Red faced - suggestions needed
I've been walking for about 45 minutes every morning before work, and then for another 45 minutes to an hour at lunch for the past month or so. I've noticed that since it started getting colder, my face is really red. It doesn't hurt and isn't dried out or anything, but it is staying red all the time and feels hot sometimes. I'm assuming this is wind burn? I don't think it's sun burn with the lack of sun lately, but I guess it is possible. (was never outside enough in the past to have this problem! LOL)
I have really sensitive skin and have to be careful what I put on it. Does anyone have any suggestions? Is just moisturizing ok, or should I use a sunblock? Are there any for sensitive skin? Any suggestions appreciated!!!
Thanks,
Laura

Good thought, Joyce.
Laura, think about Joyce's suggestion. Otherwise, I think it's likely windburn. I get it too as my skin is fair and sensitive. I wear a moisturizer that contains a sunblock everyday (Neutrogena).

I actually do. I'm a fabulous multi-tasker. And I go cross-eyed reading all of the research studies, program plans, etc that I'm reviewing. OH is a pleasant distraction. LOL

Sounds sort of like what I have been dealing with for years. I just mentioned it to my doctor last week. He used some word for it, but it wasn't rosacea like I thought it would be, although he is sending me for some bloodwork.
I find the tops of my cheeks get really red for no reason, almost like I have a fever. They'll be really warm to the touch and I've even taken my temperature several times when this happens and it's always normal.
I have fair skin that's really sensitive too.
My doctor told me to put some hydrocortisone on it at night before bed and so far it seems to help.

Hi Laura,
I have very pale, very senstiive skin, so much so that the cold, wind or sun make my eyes water and I have to wear sunglasses in the winter and do my make-up at the office! Something that I find helps my skin not turn so red is a moisturizer that is for sensitive skin and has a sunscreen in it. You can also buy 'anti-redness' formulas to help. I like the dermaglow brand, they are a Canadian company that does clinical testing on their products. You can buy them at Shoppers drug mart and they frequently come up on sale or 2-1.

Hi, I suppose circulation changes with weight loss.
I was brusing quite a bit and had sensitive skin when I would use the machine at pilates.
My Dr's educated guess is thta the blood cells have to reabsorb into the body.
Sounds plausible to me.
Marcelle is another brand for sensitive skin.
Yes to sunblock
Most importantly high five on the walking! Good job!
