Morning all :)

Quiet weekend so far - grocery shopping, a few errands, and doing some serious research on a job posting I noticed late last week.  Looking to make quite an extreme career path change (possibly) so doing my homework to apply my very transferable skills to a new position. Will be working on updating my resume today.  Haven't decided if I'm actually applying - meeting with HR next week - but the research and possibilities have been fun!  Joe even made dinner.  I was napping. LOL
P.S. LOVING my new Keurig!

B - coffee with milk x 2, protein shake
S - 1/2 a banana with a little peanut butter
L - crackers with LC cheese, turkey and sliced up pickles, veggies and dip
S - bengal tea fog
D - portobello mushrooms stuffed with a homemade twist on "spinach dip", topped with a spinkle of panko

Have a super Sunday!

I bought my husband a Keurig for Christmas last year. We had one at our school and I fell in love with it..One of the best inventions ever!

Couldn't agree more!  And I'm loving the "my K cup" attachment so I can also use my own coffee if I want! :)

Karen we have a Keurig both at home and at the lake we love it so much. Love the "K cup" attachment that comes with it too. We have three of them now, they cost around $15.00 same as the cost of a box of coffee so they are worth having. I should add that at the time we bought our Keurig machines one came with the coffee maker. Tweed & Hickory sells LOTS of different coffee and teas for Keuig FYI.

BB- decaf coffee (maybe two)

B- Egg w 1 slice turkey bacon & 1 slice Ace whole grain bread

L- cheese w pickle and left over Greek salad

D- chili (made it yesterday) yummy

Going to try and get two protein shakes in today to try and kick start my metabolism. Things are slowing down.....any thoughts???

Yes, I bought him the attachement as well.but he is so messy with that part...coffee grinds all over the place. Sometimes I want to throttle him lol.

I can think of lesser reasons to throttle Joe.

Good morning everyone!

This is day 4 of Optifast, and I have no idea why I was worried about it.  It tastes fine (at least with additives!) and it's quite filling. Haven't felt hungry at all, except for a few minutes before the next scheduled shake!

I seem to have found what I think is the perfect formula:
Pour water into the Magic Bullet to the halfway point.
Add flavouring.
Pour in Optifast
Wipe up the spilled powder off the counter.
Add benefibre (optional).
Add 4 large ice cubes.
Top up with water to just below the fill line.
Blend 10 seconds.
Remove the cup portion from the motor for a moment just to turn it upside down and back a couple of times in case anything is caked on the sides.
Blend 10 seconds more.
Done!

If you pour it into a mug, you can then rinse the blender cup and blade right away before it turns to condcrete.  And, if you want to really save some trouble, put in a few drops of dish liquid and a bit of ho****er, and blend it for a few seconds.  It cleans it up really well so it's ready for the next meal!  But it doesn't work well if you leave it for later...

Not a big fan of No Name chicken broth, though.  Even with adding things like hot sauce, garlic, sage, soy sauce (not all at once) it still has this odd underlying flavour that I don't like.  After yesterday's cup I had a chewable multivitamin just to get the taste out of my mouth. (Celebrate Forrest Berry - delicious!)

Anyway, here is today's plan:
B-Vanilla with decaf coffee (with a teaspoon of benefibre)
L-Chocolate with cherry and almond syrups
S- I might try the Campbells vegetable broth to see if it's any better
D-Vanilla with either chai syrup or coffee (I really like the coffee!)
S-Chocolate with raspberry syrup
I also drink at least one bottle of water in between each optifast and one overnight.

Off to drink my breakfast!

Have a good day everyone!

Today's gonna be an interesting day. My sister's coming over & she wants to hit up Best Buy. It's her husband's birthday next week and he wants either an e-reader or an iPad. She knows little to nothing about either so I'm going shopping with her to help her pick something.

She's also taking me to Costco. Im in desperate need of protein shakes! I hope they have canned crab. I've never looked for it but I'm craving crab cakes. Love that I can eat shellfish!

On the menu:

B: Greek Yogurt (100g)
L & D: Crab Cakes
S: Cheddar & Cottage Cheese

I'm really focussing on protein now that I'm back in the gym. I know at a deficit I can't build muscle so I'm working hard on feeding them properly & maintaining the muscle I have.

Hey Karen,
I love my Keurig too! I just placed an order for more decaf, the new pumpkin spice and tea. This is only my second order because I usually get coffee from Costco. I'll be glad to have my new coffee's and teas when I get home at the end of the month. I have been freezing out here in Alberta since I got here last month. So I'm sure I'll be drinking lots when I get home.

I think I'll have a nap today as my 2 and 4 year old grandchildren had a "sleep over" with me last night in the basement and I didn't get much sleep. Even with having the potty chair in the basement it was still disturbing my sleep to have to get up so I was awake at 3:30 and did not get back to sleep.

My meals for today:
B-cream of wheat and protein
S-cottage cheese
L-turkey and cucs on melba toast
S-cheese and apple
D-tilapia and salad
S-my own concoction of trail mix

Good luck on the job search!
