Good luck, Karen - sounds like you're ready for a change. I know from experience that a change in employment can sometimes mean the difference between dragging yourself out the door some mornings to heading out the door with a spring in your step.  I wish you success in your change! Knock 'em dead when you get your interviews!

Totally in need of a major change.  We're all waiting for a re-org.  No clue what my job will entail come January, so I'd rather do something I'm really interested in :)

Best of luck Karen. I've been with the same hospital for just over 25 years. Been through mergers and reorgs a few times so my job has changed a couple of times too. With IT though we are in an almost constant state of change so it never gets boring. Now it's the outsourcing we are worrying about.

After spending 3 years as a Career Planner, I can say you are in the driver's seat when you take charge and make a change on your terms. From an interviewer's perspective, it shows you are pro-active and a go-getter. Good for you and if it is not on your resume, remember you can add all of the volunteer work you do for this website, and your local group. You mentor and coach people, and give great support. Good luck!!

Congrats and Good Luck with your interviews!  I have worked in the same FI for almost 37 years and over the last 2 years i have come to realize that i don't want to do it anymore.  It doesn't make me happy.  So, looking to possibly early retirement next June and then look for something less stressful and closer to home to supplement my reduced pension.

Liz, it's a sad and stressful time when we discover that we just don't LIKE what we're doing anymore. I loved my job (s) more than anything up until 2 years ago, where I now sit mainly in front of my computer, reading and researching.  I am a complete people person and I am ADD.  You can imagine how this does not bode well for me. LOL

I hope things work out well for you.

Good luck Karen.  CVs are no fun to do at all...I just redid mine to apply for a few positions too...bored in my present branch.  Hard to stay focused when the work gets stale.
