Anyone JUST Get a Call from TWH?
I was just out to the store and my husband said I just missed a message from Dr. Penner at Toronto Western Hospital - like literally just missed the call and that they will call back in 10 minutes.
Anyone know why they would call me on a Sunday?

Hopefully you hear from him soon. I'd be wondering what he was calling for as well. My surgeon has called me at 10pm on Sunday night but then again he owns the clinic so makes his own hours and it's very different from doctors working out of a hospital for OHIP. I hope it's good news and not more BS like you got last week.
At first I had a moment of panic! Oh heck I thought....I'm getting kicked out of the program!

With the all the hiccups that have been going on I wouldn't be surprised if they called a wrong number! Hahahahaha

Oh boy! Haha....they called back!
They were asking me to be a part of a research study in relation to Glaucoma! Apparently they are studying the relation of the pressure in the eyes of people who are obese when they are laying down and shifting positions in their sleep! They asked me to come in for one hour of my time where they would "freeze my eyes" and then probe them with an instrument to measure the pressure in the eyes as I shifted through various positions!
I think I asked a million questions and in the end I told them I'd call or email back with a decision because there was something about having my "eyes frozen" and then being able to see an instrument coming at me that sort of weirded me out a little! I told them though that I am always interested in medical research and helping the advancement of medicine so I would serious consider it tonight and get back to them.
Sadly....being a part of the research study wouldn't qualify me for reduced "optifast time" LOL (Just kidding). They were looking for candidates who didnt have diabetes or pre-diabetes.
Would you volunteer?
