Feeling Calm
VSG on 01/25/12
I've been feeling a little reflective the past couple of days (it took me that long to calm down from last Friday's soap opera)......but it strikes me as interesting that all the anxiety I had last week leading up to my appointment on Friday is non-existent this week. I am not fretting or worrying and I feel so confident and at peace at last with my decision to have this surgery. I was always a 90% on the fence kind of girl with a lagging 10% that I felt would catch up at some point and it is as though that little negative interaction last week kind of made the need for this surgery seem so absolute. I feel so 100% on board with it all of a sudden........it's kind of interesting to have gone through this mind processing and I'd love to be able to understand how I made that leap from 90% to 100% because it is definitely mind boggling to say the least.
I am just so ready to get this show on the road and be on the other side of anesthesia! The New Year can not come fast enough!!
I would also love to express a ton of gratitude for everyone that was so kind and understanding during my mini-vent session last week! So many people emailed and messaged me and it's just such a neat little community we have going here!

Aw, Melissa - I'm very glad to hear you say that you feel so at peace now. That's the way you should feel as you embark on the final leg of your journey. You were entitled to have a mini-meltdown if you had wanted to after your (mis)adventures last Friday! Now you can get ready for the holidays feeling peaceful and content and ready for a new you and a new year!

Glad to hear you are at peace with your decision and 100% confident that you are ready to move forward... and the way things are going, we are going to be pretty close on the surgery timeline...who knows, maybe we will be surgery buddies afterall!
