Grumpy Mama but There's an End in Sight!

Today my whole fam-damily is headed off to the outdoor skate trail in Etobicoke by the lake and everyone (Husband, daughter, son, grandma, grandpa) will be skating except for me.  I can hardly handle the pain my ankles come into after 1 minute of skating.  It makes me really sad as I  use to do figure skating when I was a kid up until I started really getting overweight.  Today I'll be taking pictures of my daughters first time on ice skates instead of joining in on the fun....

All I can think is ....next year, next year, next year.....is my year.

Yep next year you'll be getting your life back! I know that it's tough sitting on the sidelines but just let it harden your resolve to work this tool to your advantage and take control of your health. It's an amazing tool and your going to rock your surgery!

In a couple of years you'll be able to teach your daughter some of your figure skating moves!

((hugs)) i know how you feel i have 3 kids ages 9, 6 and 1 1/2 and their is soo many things i would like to do with them but i either get out of breath or sore knees and ankles. And lately i find my self coaching from the side lines while my mom is with them in my place. It is heart breaking but like you side next year will be your year and instead of the one behind the camera you will be the one in front with them.

You'll be feeling so good by next winter that we may even see you in the Canadian Nationals!!  Well, maybe that's stretching it, but you'll be fabulous regardless.

 I totally understand how you feel.  Max goes skating every Saturday night with his friend and his friend's parents, while I sit on the sidelines and watch.  It makes me sad that I have to sit out, but I've told him next year we're on and I'm gonna race him (well, at least try, he'll probably win since he's pretty fast)

I've also promised to take him cross country skiing and snowshoeing next winter.  

You will be flying around on those skates in no time... next year this time, oh yeah... it's gonna be awesome!
