New to the forums

Hi everyone.
I'm new to the boards and am excited to be meeting all you wonderful people. I'm still pre-op. The process seems soooo long. I began my journey in August 2010 and have just completed all the hoop-jumping and am expecting my surgical date in either January or February 2012.
I live in a small nothern Ontario town and will be followed through the bariatric clinic in Thunder Bay. I'll be having my surgery in Hamilton and would love to hear about anyone's experiences there. I'm not looking forward to travelling so far for surgery - not to mention the fact that I live 3 1/2 hours away from Thunder Bay, as well. I'm afraid even a small post op complication could turn into a major one just due to the distance factor.
I'll be lurking around and would love to connect with others with a similar surgical date to mine. Any and all advice from post-oppers is entirely welcome!!
Thea

Perhaps we'll run into each other sometime, Robin. The best of luck for your surgery next week. You must be so excited!!
Welcome! I am fairly new here also. My new addiction has gone from food to this website. I love everyone here so far. Everyone is so supportive and advise is invaluable. I am also from a small town in Ontario but I went to the Guelph site. Travelling is tough since I also had several hours to drive to every appointment.
You will be fine and look forward to seeing more of you here.

Thea, WELCOME TO OH! You will learn so much on this site, and meet some really amazing people on the 'boards.
I have no reference point for the Hamilton hospital (sorry).
Just remember - There are no stupid questions on here ('cause we've all been there) !
I'm in Sudbury, just how far north are ya Girl?!

I'm in a small town, Marathon, about half way between Sault Ste. Marie and Thunder Bay.
I'm certain I'll have tons of stupid questions... I'll just have to get them all organized!
