Ahhhhh you made me tear up.

Being a teacher what is your favorite gift? I could use some ideas. I usually do a Tim's giftcard.

I have to tell you - the BEST gift for a teacher is a heart-felt card from the student about what they liked about the year so far.

Second best?  Gift cards.  I get so many christmas decorations (and yes, mikasa figurines and vases etc) - I just don't have room to STORE that stuff!!  But gift cards for things like books (either for the classroom or just for a nice book to read on vacation) is always a great treat.  Coffee cert. for the coffee lover is grand.  I often buy my son's teacher an LCBO gift cert (or a couple bottles of nice wine).  She deserves it. lol

One time, a group of students and parents got together and got me a day at the spa.  Holy cow that was awesome.

As a teacher, I would love a Dollarama Gift Card...but French teachers are often overlooked, so I don't expect...lol

My MIL always comes up with strange things obviously from some sale rack.  A giant and I mean giant wooden salad bowl on it own legs one time (maybe if I was a chef?) , some oil and vinegar dispensers labelled in another language,  A 2 XL sweater when I was a medium (yep before the big weight gain I guess she thought I was big, could have used it later, though).  She always comes up with something strange.

Love this thread, Karen!

Okay Karen tomorrow has to be 'what is the best gift' question.

The worst I can remember is a pair of pants my MIL bought for me, they were about 3 sizes to big. I thought OMG does she think I am that big?
The worst about it was that I kept them for about 2 years cause I felt guilty getting rid of them, Then they FIT.

Love this thread!

Last year my hubby obviously went out Christmas eve and had no idea what to get me! Christmas morning I opened a DVD of Barbara Strisand (sp) sorry to anyone who loves her. I like her music but when I had I ever mentioned I loved her lol. My kids looked and all started laughing as they knew he tried but missed the mark! Poor guy!
