Sure send them my way and I'll wear them to cut the grass and work in the garden.   They won't be pink for long.

Worst gift ever, a table belt sander.  This was in the 80's when tole painting on wood was the thing to do and I was doing it. But really?! Thanks hubby

Probably my worst was last year when I was 8 weeks out from surgery at Christmas time...a book of McDonalds gift certificates and a box of Ferrero Rocher from my manager at work...

Really?  You shouldn't have!  No really, YOU SHOULDN'T!

My nieces loved them however!

I have always been heavy, even as a child, and I remember one Christmas my sister got some really nice cute clothes, and I got 2 sweaters - cardigans, both the same, except for the colour.  I think that is about the only thing that was store bought that could fit me.

On a lighter note.... I did give my sister's husband a roll of toilet paper, but in half.... addressed to my half assed brother in law.

I hate to join the whole MIL theme, but my ex's mom always got everyone jammies, one size fits all...but clearly did not fit everyone!!

I think getting clothes that are too small is so annoying.  One year Northern Reflections had little business cards that they were handing out.  You could go in and pick out your favourites (including sizes) and they would write it on the card for you to hand out.  Almost like registering for a wedding.  I loved it, got things for my mom and a few others that way.

Penningtons will do something similar.  If you are shopping for someone who has their club card and you go in armed with their name and/or phone number, they will look up their "history" and advise you on what size to purchase.  I had no idea they did this until my aunt bought me an outfit a few years ago that fit perfectly and she told me.

As for funny gifts, one year my dad was complaining that the kids got more presents than the adults (probably only half joking), so my mom went out and got $100 in one dollar bills (yes, they still had bills then) and my brother, my mom and I wrapped each one individually!  My dad thought it was pretty funny...he was opening presents till dinner time that day!

For Christmas my mom would always buy me clothes. Of course they would not fit me.  Her comment would be," well you can work to get into them".  Here we are over 35 years later and they still would not fit.   I know she had good intentions and thought she would help encourage me to lose weight.  As a child it is disappointing to get a gift that you can not use right away. It made me feel like I did not receive anything for Christmas.
My mom has been gone for 5 years now, but I would give anything to have her buy me some clothes that I could work to get into.

An old boyfriend's grandmother gave me AVON liquid deodorant. She then went on trying to explain that she just liked the smell of it, and that she didn't think I smelled personally. I didn't know if I should have laughed, or been offended. I just smiled and said "thank you" under the firm glare of my ex.
