A very good day...
I had a meeting in Toronto today, so it has been a long day, but a great one too!
First, now that I can move my car seat up to the spot it is supposed to be in (not out to accommodate my belly), driving long distances is much easier. No cramped feet and legs from stretching to the limit.
Second, four people made comments about the dramatic weight loss since the last time they saw me! Two know about the surgery and two didn't know. So it really is noticable to everyone now.
Third, I was talking to a collegue who is also obese. I told her about my surgery and she was very excited. She investigated the surgery several years ago but decided she couldn't afford it. She didn't know anything about the registry. She called her family physician right then and there to book an appointment to see about a referral. I can't wait to see what happens in her future!!!
Fourth, an older gentleman came up behind me at lunch and whispered in my ear, "you are positively melting before our very eyes my dear, and you are looking sensational!!" What a sweet compliment!
I meet these collegues at various events about 10 times a year, so they are really seeing a difference each time I see them.
I think I will send my family doctor a Christmas card this year...to thank him for putting me on this path and for saving my life.

Tracy, What an excellent collection fo NSVs! And you know, I really liked the last part about sending a Christmas Card to your family doctor... My doctor was the first one to introduce the idea of WLS to me, and I am so glad that he did. I think I will follow your lead on the Christmas Card idea.
Congrats on such an awesome week!
