What kinds of creamed soups did you enjoy during that phase of your post-op diet?

Cream of brocolli, cream of chicken and cream of mushroom and garlic, all the low sodium ones. I found the cream soups were the only thing I could mix the unflavoured protein powder in and actually not taste it. It's probably easiest to mix it in completely with the milk before mixing it into the soup. Unfortunately, you don't really get much variety as one can of soup will likely last you a day or two of meals. If found too that the cream soups with lost of pepper on it were also the only things that tasted normal to me, especially while in hospital. I think I kind of still had ketosis mouth and nothing quite tasted right, but at least the soup was okay.

All the best!

I made my soup as I don't tend to like canned.  Cream of broccoli and squash soup were my favorites.

leek and potato by knor was good and best flavour for me....you just had to puree it all to a liquid or sive out the bits (for any soups you do). I liked tomato too! Campbels has some tetra pack ones that are low sugar and fat and you can buzz them before heating them I think roasted red pepper made the cut for me by a smidge and it was nice

for a while I wanted bland, and after never having had it before I LOVED cream of potato, again the low sodium. For me the others had a bit too much flavor if that makes sense...

I used the Campbell's tetra pack ones too. They are a bit high in carbs, but sat fine with me. I also added skim milk powder to boost the protein. Hint-don't go all crazy stocking up. Sounds good to be prepared, but one thing you may like now may not be something you can tolerate later. If I were to do it over again I would have a couple of choices available at home and if one in particular was good, then get more. Just my two cents.

Best wishes for your surgery day. It will be here before you know it.

Kristie

I enjoyed cream of mushroom and also the Habitat soup "Pea Soup".  I hadn't had it in years and it was good.
