The Final Countdown Begins....
When I chose my surgery date I wanted it to be after my daughters 3rd birthday so that I could celebrate with her and so that just in case anything (knock wood) should go horribly wrong it would not be on her birthday (they originally offered me a Jan 20 date....my daughters birthday)....So yesterday and today we celebrated in full fashion and now the day is done and I am full-on focused on my surgery on Wednesday. Nerves have not set in yet....but I am ready to turn this page in the book of my life and be on with it. 3 more full days and then on day 4 I am going under! In celebratory fashion and a proud mom moment..

I don't blame you for waiting until after Violet's birthday - after all, turning 3 years old is a pretty important deal!!!
Melissa, I'm glad to hear that you're not nervous - that's the way I hope that it stays. You'll be in experienced hands in a great hospital with the best of care. You have been working towards this moment for quite a while & now it's just about time for you to start your "new" life! Keep your eyes on the prize & just think of all the things that you'll be able to do with Violet once the weight comes off - so many activities that are hard to do now.
