Oh, that is such a shame, my condolences.  It's always difficult to lose someone we care about even when they have had a long and well-lived life. 

 Melissa, I am So sorry for you family's loss. My sincerest condolences and prayers go out to you.  Surgery is hard enough (mentally) without the added burden of a heavy heart. Just the same, I think your family will understand completely. You are so much stronger than you realize. You will see. You will get through this too. I will be thinking of you tomorrow.
