Need some chill out or something

As you might remember, I am new to the boards.
My Dr. sent in my referral a year ago September, told me there was a wait of about a year. I followed up with him in August, my referral was re-sent. As it turns out, when the registry was transferred to Ottawa, many of us were "lost". Now Ottawa transferred my file to Humber River to get faster results, I confirmed with Humber River that they do have my file on Jan 9th. The lady explained that she was handling the latest bulk transfer and was waiting to get confirmation from her manager that I was exempt from the orientation session, having already done that in Ottawa. Then she would start setting up the appointments for the other meetings. I asked when I would hear back, she said in a week or so.
Now, 2 weeks later and nothing. How long before I follow up again? I want to make sure my file is not lost again. Should I give them a third week, or wait a whole month? What has your experience been? When my file was transferred, Ottawa said my surgery would take place either January, Feb or March in Humber River. Well, Jan is definatley out. I am basically uncomplicated. I also want to thell them that I gave up my nightly glass of wine and have cut caffeine out completley. Is that worth a call?

call - even if they arent helpful, call back again the next week. That's how i got all of my appts sped up. One would tell me on a Monday that there were no cancellations any time soon and by the end of th week, I would find someone else one the phone and they would find an appt for early the next week for me. I would suggest you call around lunch if not later. The younger nicer girl always answers then. (I got one of the crusty ones today!!)

I called and the lady on the phone could not find my file.
She is supposed to call me back (I was too flabergasted to ask when)
I hope I have not fallen through the cracks-AGAIN
16 months and a couple of weeks since my Dr first referred me to the registry.
I need to get some sleep before work tonight too. Arrgggghhhhh
