Hi Everyone
This is probably a stupid question. I am having my surgery early Thursday morning 8 a.m. in Guelph. does the hospital discharge on the weekend. My sister says no and I say yes.. LOL

I've never had surgery at that hospital but have been discharged on weekends at other hospitals. They don't want you there any longer than need be as usually someone else is waiting for a bed.

Hey there Deb..

Were you told you had to stay in the Guelph area after your discharge. People keep asking me if I am staying in a hotel when I am discharged. I am so confused. My surgery is next Thursday just wanted to clear this up before I go.

I had surgery on a thursdayafternoon at Guelph and was released Saturday morning. I did not have to stay nearby.

Your release date is decided on a case by case basis. You'll see some people are sprung loose after two days (which is what I was hoping for). Others, not so lucky. No one said to me to stay in Guelph for an extra day, though when I brought it up to the nurse at P.A.T.S. she felt it was a "good idea".
