Menu Feedback
VSG on 01/25/12
My mind is playing tricks on me because yet again I have not lost weight for two weeks. It is a bit frustrating to think that this is what my damn body is going to do to me....lose for a week then don't lose for two weeks.
I would appreciate a little feedback on my menu please? Can you look at what I've planned out for today and give me a little support/ideas?

Not sure if that is your typical day or not but I see a lot of processed things that are usually full of sodium so you may be hanging onto a lot of water. Are you drinking a lot to flu**** out?Like the turkey bacon, and deli ham? I will have to look into this but I have generally been pretty cautious of the sodium intake. I have never had the deli ham before today - the dietician was the one who suggested I add it - I don't even care for it very much! I usually add about 1/8th of a pickle to my Tuna but surely that can't be the culprit could it?

Yes the bacon, the ham, the dill pickle and even the canned tuna, usually all have a lot of sodium in them. It could be that you are retainining water if this is part of your daily diet.I do eat tuna every day.
Would chicken thighs or breast be a better option?

You could check your can to see how much sodium is in it especially if it's something you enjoy eating daily as it may not be the culprit. Chicken is just as good an option as long as it's fresh chicken that you cook. The ones you buy are often salty as heck too as they will brine them to keep them moist and then you get a ****load of salt again without even knowing it.
And really not losing weight for 2 weeks or more is not the end of the world. Sometimes I would go in spurts of losing for 2 weeks then doing nothing for 2 weeks then have a huge drop the following week.

Hi thereNow this is just my 2 cents, but I say you need to eat more and you still need more protein, although myfitnesspal says 80 grams, I think that is still low.
Lets see what others say
Take care
I aim for 80-100 grams of protein per day and keep my carbs very low - below 25 most often. I do not eat fruit and just added veggies this week (3 months out) and it is only 1 ounce per day. I eat no bread, pasta, rice, cereal etc and won't until I get closer to goal. I get my protein from two protein shakes a day, some chicken, beef, egg, cheese or fish all freshly cooked. My center said don't worry about fruit and veg but get as much protein in as you can. And of course water. I stay between 600 and 800 hundred calories per day and I lose better at the low end. You have to figure out your own body's sweetpoint to feel satisfied and still lose. I gain at 800 unless I am really pushing the exercise and no I don't think I am starving my body nor does my dietician. I have had several stalls my longest beingj just over 2 weeks. It scares the heck out of me too. It seems if I have carbs I gain and it takes a long time to lose it again.
I would not eat tuna from a can every day as it is high in mercury and your body may have a tough time getting rid of it since you are eating so little.
At two months out I was at around 60 gr of protein per day and pushing it. By the end of the second month I was eating minimum 60 gr of protein and often more by consuming a second protein drink. I wouldn't worry about anything else so early out as the protein will keep you satisfied and help you heal.
I am ultra sensitive to carbs and am diabetic so the minute I touch any carbs over my very limited amount, I gain weight. So I eat greek yogurt only a couple of times a week. I do have 1/2c milk every day with my tea.
With time, getting fluids in has become so much easier. I noticed the change in my second month. Protein drinks no longer stuff me to the gills and getting water and tea down is so much easier. I do stick to the no drinking before meals and for 1 hour after.
Try low carbing for a week and trying to up your protein by using protein shakes, no processed meats and more water. I think that will get you over your stall.
