Hunger Games - how ironic.....

I hear you! Last summer at an outdoor wedding I broke a lawn chair ( thankfully it happened after the wedding was over and waiting for the reception to begin) while sitting in a group of about 6 people. It was so embarrassing! I didn't sit on another lawn chair after that! Lol! I'm so grateful there is hope!
Hugs, Ann. I feel your pain. I remember trying to fit into booths, movie seats, etc etc, and being so embarrassed about it, and uncomfortable, and horrible. Things will get better, i promise you. The first time i went to a movie post op, i smiled during the entire movie. it was so nice having some wiggle room.

Oh, you'll enjoy post surgery then. I no longer have to size up the seating beforehand. I can sit in seats beside adults. I don't have to get the outside seat at restaurants. I can sit in the tight booths and against walls.
I sympathize greatly with you. I hated stadium seating at concerts the most.. now, they no longer intimidate me!

Boy, I hear you Ann! I hate being afraid to go to a new restaurant for fear that it just has booth seating & worrying that I won't fit in the booth comfortably. Too many times I've had to sit there with the table edge digging into my stomach - needless to say, I never returned to those places. I can't wait to not have to worry about that any more.......
As far as your friend goes, my best friend is also a skinny little thing and she never really sees me as a fat person - she just sees me as her best friend. Weight just never enters the picture for her. I'll bet you that your friend sees you the same way. They love us just the way we are!

Yes Deb - that is exactly it with my friend. She is one of 3 friends that knows I am doing this journey - and she supports me 110%. But - because she is so small - she has no idea how awkward it can be. If I would have said something - she would have felt terrible that I have to struggle. She is a keeper.
last month I went on the OH cruise, and had to fly to Florida...it was my first flight since surgery...it was so amazing, first there was lots of room to sit down, then I actually had to shorten the seatbelt, I thought they only got longer. The tray table fit and did you know they came move toward you?? and then the final thing was when I could cross my legs under the tray table...While there are so many things to enjoy...I love feeling the things "normal" sized people feel....
just you wait, it won't be long for you either...
best wishes..

Just wait until your tailbone hurts from sitting on it! That's when you'll truly know you've lost weight. I sat in the van and thought I was sitting on a winter glove - turns out I could feel the springs in the seat!! It's a wonderful thing.
