You guys all rock!!!  Thank you so much for the encouragement and telling me to relax and keep on going.  That is exactly what I needed.  Definitely going to watch the carbs and up the protein (will be easier now that I'm back on the protein shakes again!)  Thank you for all the advice and reassurance that it is not just fat.  It just scared the hell out of me to see it go up so much so fast!  I'm going to try to ignore the scale for a while, but I have my 8 month check up with my surgeon on Tuesday, which is also part of why I'm freaking out!  I really want to show him how good I've been doing (other than my oops period!)  and boom.. add 5 pounds  :(

Oh well.. I'm going to keep on doing what I'm doing now and eventually the scale will catch up!  I'll print out my journal and show it to the nutritionist on Tuesday and see what they think too.

I like the idea of the pouch test Karen!  Let me know when you are going to do this.  I'll look it up and make sure I get the right things from the grocery store and will get serious with ya!

Thank again everyone.  I feel much better!

Laura

P.S. Karen.. potato chips are evil...  Damn.. now I want some... lol

I think we get into that mode for the first few months post-op where we see the weight sliding off and it makes us so happy!! We are all into instant gratification and when increased efforts like you are doing don't show positive results we feel crushed. WLS never promised easy results, we've still got to do the same work that everyone else has to do. You are doing it!! You will succeed if you stay on the path you are on. For myself I find that when my carbs are low I am more likely to lose. Carbs must be less than protein for me to lose weight. Go get your protein shakes or protein powder or whatever! Never run out! If I didn't have my protein shakes I would be lost!!

I would be happy with the scale not moving.. it's the fact that I'm doing everything right and it went up 5 POUNDS!  That's where I panicked a bit!  LOL
