Its messy but an application of plain probiotic yogart to the area can help.  I get horrible yeast rashes in skin folds and usually use clotrimaderm (noname and in the foot section) but if I am desperate and have none on hand - on goes the yogart.

I am home! The prescrip I have is Fucidin H Cream. It is 2% fusidic acid and 1% hydrocortisone acetate. Says "Topical antibiotic/corticosteroid".

Hi Karen,
Be careful using non-medicated powders if your rash is due to yeast. I have a small rash like that and I found if I used talcum powder or cornstarch the rash got worse and more itchy. Apparently, the powder will become moist and that creates the perfect environment for the yeast to grow (a nurse told me that).
I try my best to keep it dry and keep the skin seperate at home. Great tips from prior posters using gauze dressing and pads.

Also if it doesn't clear up- try talking to your doctor.

Good luck- I hope it clears up quickly!

I used to use Canestin Cream or Gold Bond Powder.

Karen, i've used canesten cream (yes, the smae stuff you'd use if you have a yeast infection in your twilly, the cream that's for 'external use only'), just mix it with a bit of hydrocortisone cream (bothe are over the counter)

Thank you EVERYONE for all of your suggestions!  I really appreciate it.  WOW, this thread has certainly taken on a life of it's own. LOL!

To prevent rashes, I use good ol' Secret anti-perspirant/deodorant under there. Works like a charm for me. Probably not a good idea once you already have a rash though....

Hi there Karen, my son's Pediatrician and my doctor always suggest SUDOCREAM, it is in a gray jar with red and white label in the baby section of shoppeers.  You would not think to pick it up.  A study was done in the pediatric Journals and it is the best cream out there for rashes.  My hubby even uses it when he gets a rash from his hockey equipment, my Dad uses it, I use it and my son still uses it for skin irritations.  The stuff is amazing and not as thick and gooey as Penaten

I'm not online that much these days; you may have found a solution...
If not, using a fungal cream for athletes foot type infections was suggested to me by my Dr for a slit that reoccurs near my belly button area.
I'm also a fan of Gold Bond.
