Called my center - but.....

Just wanted your opinions, until I hear back from the nurse.

I am 8 days post op - had my one week yesterday.  The nurse said all was going very well.  She felt my belly and I mentioned that one spot seemed to be hard today and wasn't before.  It was a little tender as well (all day - not just upon palpatation). 

The discomfort continued overnight.  This morning the discomfort has  increased.  There is a spot directly above my belly button - halfway to my breasts that has become swollen and it hurts continually.  I have pressed around in there - yesterday it was soft - today there is a noticable bump.

Other than the pain from this area - I feel great.  No fever, no vomiting, - eating and drinking well.

Any thoughts as i wait for the center to call?

Is it seeping at all? I had seepage on one of my incisions, it wasn't painful, but it was anoying.  I was given some antibiotics to take and was told just to let it go, it would stop on it's own.  That is was just serium trying to get rid of the irritant.  They gave me the antibiotics to be sure that there wasn't an infection.
I'm wondering if you have something similar, but if you don't have anything seeping, it could be building up kinda like a water blister.  Hopefully the clinic calls you back soon.

Is it under your left breast?

I talked to Kim at the centre - she suggested to go in - so 2.5 hrs later - there I was in ER.

The pain was not at an incision site - it was in the middle of the area between the belly button and the breasts - right in the middle.

Turns out - they think it is just healing of the muscle above where the biggest site is (the camera site above the belly button).  It is all internal, no weeping etc. 

I was concerned because it was hard and protruding. But all is good.....

They still want to see me on Tuesday in the clinic.

So glad to hear that you went and got it checked out.  It is so worrisome to have something that seems weird going on.

That's a relief. I'm glad it's normal for you. I went to my GP today for a swab of one of my incisions. There was brown drainage and increased pain there too. Out of the 6 sites, 3 look great, one is gaping and the rest are just a bit apart.

How are your incisions looking?

All 5 of my incisions are great!  They even took a look at them while I was in ER - he said they look fabulous.  I never thought I would hear a man say that my tummy looks fabulous  - there are bruises everywhere!  He asked me where I was going to put the next needle because he couldn't see a clear spot!  It was pretty funny.  Gotta love a man that loves my nice tummy....
