To ride my bike? My treadmill broke this am F**K!! And all I have left is my bike. Not a stationary one the actual bike.
I need to be doing something and walking outside is not something I enjoy in anyway, but I will if I have no choice.

each center is different but the general rule is 4-6 weeks,,, you want the incisions on the inside to be healed first. you are cleared for walking a lot sooner because the risk of a fall is a lot less.

I would join a gym however it would be like a 45 minte drive each way to join a gym.

If you go for short rides, you should be ok. Just don't over do it. It's sooo nice out for walking too

Enjoy the weather :D:D

Hi Hobbit

Personally....I would NOT go on a bike this soon after surgery...

What if you get dizzy...and you fall.....your sutures are still healing.....etc.....

Please keep your feet on terra firma....either until you see your centre for your 4 week follow up or are instructed that it is OK by your wls centre

Dont try and set the world on fire right out of the gate......your enthusiasm for exercise is wonderful....but please just temper it a bit until you are longer post surgery

Thanks

I'm glad that's the best decision, I say ditto to his post.

Surgery date May 7 / 2012
Highest 312 lbs - Pre Op 297lbs - now 199 lbs
I know now that my location was never my destination.
