I know I don't have much to say these days. I still regret this so I don't post much.

Ok here goes my rant.

I feel like CRAP all the time. I am trying to stretch the pouch to get in what I am supposed to, however I try and then puke. So how am I supposed to stretch this fracking thing.

I am constantly tired, ill to my stomach, and light headed on a daily basis.

I take my vits everyday. I take a Centrum 50+ chewables, calcium, and 18mg of liquid iron. Every other day I take B12.

any suggestions?

A mantra for you: This shall get better, I will be healthier and feel great.

The only "advice" I would give other than some positive thinking is stop trying to stretch your pouch. I never ate more than what felt ok. Your pouch will settle at some point but early out it is the post surgical swelling and healing that make it so tight. I would hazard a guess that puking all the time would just keep your pouch sensitive and slow the healing. Eat what you can and not a bite more.
Use protein shakes if your coming up short on protein intake and forget the rest. Your vitamins will cover your nutritional needs except for protein.

I have no option but to the stretch the pouch according to doc and dietician. I am only able to put in about 1/4 food, so about 1 oz protein at a time. At this point I shoul dbe getting 3oz protein, 1/4 veg.

Have you tried the protein shakes at Costco, and if so, have you tried drinking them all day very slowly, that way you will get the needed protein in.  Added to that small amounts of protein. I wonder if you need to time yourself every 15 min. to be having something, very small and see how it goes.
what do the professionals say to do?

I am one month post up, and I also am at 1 once.  Never I have been told to eat more than I am capable of.  We had a different surgery, but still, the whole point is to get healthier not make you feel like crap.

What I do, and my surgeon doesn't have a problem with that, is TRY to eat what I need to, and supplement with protein shake.

I also think that this vomitting is holding your healing back.  You have to stop stretching it and start respecting it.

That is my humble opinion, but this is what I would do, regardless of my surgeon and nut, and once it's healed, than I would focus on eating more a bit (tiny bit) every meal.

Best of luck to you

Sounds like you need to go back to your dietician and ask for a detailed plan on what to eat.

If you are tired it's probably because you are not eating enough protein.

As others had said stretching your pouch is not a good idea. At my nutrionist appointment they said if you are having issues to go back to the last phase that you tolerated.  So that might be either pureed or just protein shakes.

I think your best idea is to make an appointment with your centre. They are there to help you out and you need to ask for help instead of feeling like crap every day.

K I am just gonna clarify

This is an order from the Dietician and the Doctor.
I am malnurished, vitamin deficient and over all not doing well.
I still get in the protein shakes, however the issue is that I am not able to get in enough food. This is apparently an issue. I was doing as much as I could but that is not good enough!

So if anyone has advice that isn't drink protein I would love to hear it!

How about going back to pureed food, I personnally was finding it easier to eat more than now that I chew.

Have you tried going back a phase?

We had surgery about the same time..............I am sorry I don't have any advice for you, as I am having the same issues as you.............but my surgeon (funny, you had Dr. Huynh.......I was supposed to have him until he bailed on me last minute.  I now have Dr. Starr) says don't worry about how much food you are getting in as long as you are drinking enough and staying hydrated. I know exactly how you feel with the lightheadedness and crappy feeling................I have such a hard time getting my exercise in cause I don't have enough energy to keep going, especially in this heat.  I would suggest not stretching your pouch and just work on trying to stop vomitting and try to increase the amount of protein (food) each day even if just a little..........without adding more protein drink.  Hope this helps and as bad as I feel you are going through this..............I am glad someone else is having the same problem and I am not the only one.

I love Dr Starr, he saved my life after Dr Huynh made his mistake.

I guess maybe I didn't explain well. When I said trying to stretch the pouch that's what I meant. I only throw up when I am trying to add a little more to stretch. I am not putting alot in for example I can get in 1oz protein at a time, so I will try 1.25oz protein and then .  Its not like I am trying to cram in everything I am supposed to be eating. It is a slow process, but I don't think there is a solution to this.

I also can't excerise because I am just so damned run down.
