Well,

I just thought I share this with yous... nothing crazy just a quick story.

I was talking with my mum the other day about surgery and she has told me many times that she supports me with this surgery and will be there with me thru recovery and has offered to stay with me a week or so , so that Zach (bf) wont have to take to much time off.

Mum started to cry when she told me that she is mostly looking forward to having a picture taken with me... she told me she has no pictures of me.

It struck me that yes, this is true... such a sad feeling it is to know that I have no recent pictures with my sister, my mum, my grandmother or my boyfriend.... wow.

I cannot wait to shed this weight so I can feel more at ease infront of a camera... little things like this... keep me so very motivated.

I agree ...I haven't had pictures taken in forever ...the ones I do have are few and far between ...I have never had a family portrait taken and when I lose is weight that is what I am going to do.

Girl...take pictures... seriously... for two reasons... 1) because you want to document later how very far you have come and the before's will help you to actually SEE the changes you are making. 2) Your family and friends DESERVE to preserve memories with you...fat, skinny, beautiful ugly bad hair day and all...

My suggestion is to meet up with those closest for a day before your surgery and let everyone photograph you and everyone together....its important and obviously would mean the world to your momma!!

I completely agree with this .... I regret not taking a night before surgery pic
or even a before pic .... It will be such a great visual to see how far you've come and how much good work you're doing.

Its totally worth it :)

I hear ya loud and clear!!!! My mom has often mentioned that she has candid photos of my brothers, but none of me because I won't let anyone take my picture. She pointed out that when my kids grow up, they'll notice that there are almost no pictures of me taken during their childhood. That broke my heart. Any pictures I have been forced into - ie/ a family photo at my parents' 50th wedding anniversary - I think I look horrible.

When you go through the Windsor Bariatric Centre, they insist that you bring in a recent picture (pre op) for your file. I think that's a great idea - otherwise I wouldn't have had a picture of myself to compare with after my surgery.
