Low Heart Rate
VSG on 01/25/12
The last couple of times I've had my heart rate and blood pressure checked including at my last appointment at TWH myheart resting heart rate has been between 45 and 60!! I used to be 110 when I was heavier so this is quite the change for me! Has anyone else experienced this?
My blood pressure has been super low too 90/55!!

yes as a matter of fact I have....started tracking my BP and was astonished at the numbers. I have been on Avapro for BP for years. along with an 81 mg aspirin daily. I had my WLS surgery on Sept. 4 and came home and continued to take my meds as usual. One evening after dinner while sitting at the computer I started to feel kind of woozy and remebered that blood pressure is altered even after a small weight loss. I checked mine and it was 99/63 and I was amazed. I am down 32 pounds so far and decided on my own to take half the BP med to see how the numbers are then. They are up a bit 102/60,108/67,etc. so I have an appt. to see my family physician for some advice. Might be rid of a med sooner than I thought was possible.
Keep us posted on you and well wishes :)

I am a 110/70 kind of girl. They never mind when it is around that... They flip out if it goes any more than 10 points out in either direction for me because I am so consistant.
One of my best friends is a 75/35 kind of girl. That they seem to have a problem with. For her they ran a whole boatload of tests, and monitor her. Turns out she's just that way and "ok" at that (which shocks them) and has to up her sodium because it helps raise the numbers...
I'm going to say your Dr's should be aware of this. It is important that anything out of the normal range for you is documented... It might be worth a phone call in the morning.

same here, since my surgery. heart rate 50, bp 80/50. Very common, btw, especially if you do a lot of cardio or run. Many people have this effect postop and just live with it.
And yes, sodium is "unlimited", lol. My doc also tests it every time I do blood work.

My can rest in the 30's. 70's, well I know it's beating. I am however going for further testing to find out why I have pressure about 70. And my blood pressure must be controlled by medication.

@ BonnieABC - High blood pressure or low blood pressure?
Before surgery my Heart rate was in 60-70 range, in hospital immediately post surgery in low 50's.
I haven't checked recently.
But yeah - the advantage of low blood pressure is the ability to eat SALT !!!
(and watch your hydration.)

I have been on meds for years for high blood pressure. I am now off most. I still need one for other reasons. But my blood pressure regularily dips low. Especially going from sit to stand. I do not consume much salt and will not start since I now do not enjoy it. I worked with my GP and cardiologist over meds. I would suggest you see your GP.
