no sugar added ice cream...the end of a love affair...

I have met my match.  No sugar added chocolate ice cream and I aren't friends any longer.  It tastes too good and I had a whole cup of it tonight...late at night...sitting on the couch.  And it tasted all creamy and chocolately, just like I remember devouring ice cream countless nights before surgery.  Yup, its official.  We've broken up.  I put the rest of the container in my sink and poured ho****er on it.  Its good to remember that some things I can just not eat in moderation.  Live and learn, I guess.

Smart choice Sandy!  What about frozen yogurt instead??  Do they make that in Chocolate?  does it have better stats?  I'm afraid to try anything like that at all  indecision

BTW....after your post on Sunday re the "sweet potato chili" a few folks wanted to know if you'd share the recipe (me included LOL)???

Hey Verity,

I am happy to share the sweet potato chili recipe...it is one of my favourites.  I did get your message and I will type out the recipe when I have a moment and send it your way...sorry for the delay in replying.

I don't eat the sugar free ice cream often, but when I do, I want more.  I wouldn't bother trying it if you haven't so far.  Its not a good nutritional choice.  I can make my own delicious frozen greek yogurt...I have an ice cream maker for peats sake...plus I can also make eggface protein ice cream.  I've done that before and I don't feel the same draw to overeat.  It was the creaminess and the good chocolate taste that got me last night.

I'm also trying to gain some weight at this point.  My weight today is 138.6 and I'm 5'11, so I'm officially underweight.  (talk about bizarre!)  I think this encouraged my thinking that I can eat some "bad" foods and not worry about the consequences.  The thing is that I don't want to get into bad habits just because I'm trying to gain some weight.

I agree it's not a good nutritional choice.  I was actually quite surprised to see it on TWH's list of foods we can have on the liquid diet!  I didn't get any because I just knew what would happen if I did!

You got it exactly right! Some of those old habits just need to fade away. Nice thing is, there are plenty of new horizons out there just waiting. Now that you've conquered this, what's next? angry

I had my first mini-dump on NSA ice cream. It goes down way too easy. Way to go for getting rid of it!!
