I'll be running at the track tonight (Week 5 of the Couch to 5K!).  Today I'm supposed to run for 20 minutes straight - seems like a big leap from Tuesday which was run 8 minutes, 5 minute walk, then repeat!  So I'll try my best, but if I can't get to the 20 minute mark yet I'll just go for as long as I can!

Yeah, it's the first time since starting the training that I've felt like it might be too much!  Day 1 was run 5 minutes, walk 3 minutes (repeat 3 times), Day 2 run 8 minutes, walk 5 minutes (repeat twice), and now Day 3 is Run for 20 minutes with no walking (just once).  Then next week it's back to shorter jogging intervals for the first couple of days?

So my plan is to run for as long as I can (well jog really - not winning any speed awards over here!) - if I can only make it for 10 minutes, I'll walk for 5 and start again!  I've been progressing well through the training so far, so if it takes a few more tries to get up to 20 minutes, oh well!

I never followed the C25K program for more than one day LOL (pre-surgery). But I did take a Learn to Run course at Running Room. They were much more conservative though. I dropped down from the 5K Running Room course, because they started with doing 5 and 1's, and I felt like dying (again pre-surgery). The Learn to Run starts at 1 and 1's.

It will be interesting to see how long I can run, when i'm allowed again....in a week and a half I guess!!

Good to know that other programs aren't as crazy! The C25K was pretty conservative to start with, but it has ramped up quite a bit.

Great news that you can start running again soon!  I'm sure you'll be back to where you were in no time!

Day 11/21 of Opti and I managed to 'dance' for 45 minutes this morning, although I got pretty slow after half an hour, and I managed a 15 minute walk this afternoon.  I must have been walking slowly though, because everyone passed me, but I didn't care for once.

Jenn.  :)

 1st appointment - Feb. 23rd, 2012. RNY Dr Cyriac Mar. 11th, 2013.
