Iron question ???
Wondering if anyone has issues taking Proferrin iron supplement, Dr. is telling me my iron is a bit low and advised me to take this 3 times a week. I know I was anemic years ago I had to take an iron supplement (no idea what kind now) but it made me deathly ill from them and I ended up having to have a Blood Transfusion...

Oknee was a big help to me too! I now use Feramax.
don't get too hung up on the numbers from blood results. I am 4 years post-op and have always had low iron...not sure if it wa sthat way prior to RNY. I have switched iron brands etc so many times I probably can't count them all.
I recently underwent a hysterectomy, because of some other issues and will be curious to see what my lab panels come back with now.
If you are not weak, dizzy and for the most part not totally exchausted...this is just like any other report....it effects people in different.
IN the 4 years I have had low iron..my doctor who watches my iron etc VERY carefully has never been freaked out that I am always below 9 (which was my highest)...
go with what the concerns of your doctor if he has any
prior to surgery 323lbs....4 years post-op maintaining between 108- 114 lb loss.
life is AMAZING when you continue on the right path~!. Use your surgeons gift to the fullest~!
