Topic: What are you eating/doing today -- Wednesday?

Good morning :)

Currently sitting on the floor playing blocks ;) reminds me that I need to get my butt in gear faster so that I can sit on the floor comfortably and run around with the little nugget. I need a few groceries so I will check and see what's on sale. DH isn't working right now so we are mostly staying around the house and getting some stuff done here.

QOTD: one project I want to work on is going through my phone to get some photos printed. Some will go up on the walls and some are for a photo album I'm putting together. Funny thing though -- I just read a post on Facebook about someone wanting to scan all their photos so they can get rid of the physical albums (they need more space). Are you a digital photo person or a physical photo person? I like both... I like that I can have 10,000 photos on my phone but also some albums to sit and reminisce with ;)

Post-op four years and two months.

Accountability: I'm down a pound towards my five pound challenge. It is nice to see the scale cooperating. Yesterday was a good eating day. I had a protein shake at night instead of a pudding, which I regretted at the time because it made me too full before bed.

Breakfast - protein shake

Snack - carrots and PB

Lunch - turkey pepperette, cheese, pickles

Snack - HB egg (didn't make them yesterday so I will try again)

Dinner - something with pork roast. DH made lettuce wraps last night with roast pork, pickled onions, carrots, green peppers, and crushed peanuts.

Snack - SF pudding

All water and vits.

Good morning. Ugghh hate this soggy weather after we were spoiled by warmth and sunlight all weekend. I snuck my walk in just before it started pouring last night but have a feeling it may be my indoor cycle for the rest of the week. Meg, it's always nice to have a buddy challenging you and 5 lbs sounds like a very reachable goal!

QOTD: Well I have lots of space but don't bother planting a garden since I live in the best fresh produce area of Ontario and its less hassle to just hit a roadside stand. I plant tomatoes in a huge pot by my step but that's it. Luckily we have asparagus all along the roadsides and fence lines so I can't wait til that starts popping up!

B - triple zero greek yogurt

S - egg bites

L - roast chicken

S - 1/2 protein shake

D - baked halibut with lemon, dill and black pepper and some broccoli

S - turkey pepperette

Good morning :)

I am back on plan and have a friend doing a challenge this month to keep me accountable. Annoyingly I'm only down 0.5 pounds, but it is the right direction!! My revised goal (for the challenge) is to lose five pounds by May 31st.

Not much planned for today. I was going to take the car for a paint repair estimate but DH needs the car. I did a bit of gardening yesterday and bought some herbs to add to a raised box we have in our backyard.

QOTD: if you only had about 15 square feet of garden box space (so 3' by 5' ish) what would you plant? Our box currently has raspberries and strawberries that come back every year, but our strawberries don't seem to be coming back well this year.

Post-op four years and two months.

Breakfast - protein shake

Snack - carrots and PB

Lunch - pepperettes, cheese stick, crackers

Snack - boiled egg and pickles

Dinner - pork stir-fry

Snack - SF pudding

All water and vits.

Topic: RE: Postponed my surgery

I feel you should trust the surgeon's judgement and do what they recommend. They are educated and have the experience. Either way, you still need to do the work after surgery.

I haven't had surgery yet, but it was discussed at the orientation that it is up to the surgeon as to what type of surgery they decided is best for you.

Wishing you luck.

Topic: RE: Veterans: How do you keep it off and avoid regain?
  • Hello !

What a surprise to see my name

in your post! How flattered I am too!

I am heading on to 13 years post op in July so I?m getting up there. Haha.

At 2-3 years out I gained back 20 lbs and I was devastated. I was even told that I was a failure for on this very board. It made me feel like I was a total failure.

Regain is NOT failure. It does not mean you?ll gain all your weight back. It means you have stuff to deal with and things to learn. We are living post op life in a way that is the complete opposite of our preop life. That?s hard especially when you have underlying eating disorders and head issues that you need to deal with.

I go up and down on the scale. I try different things to renew my journey at different times. Right now I?m into meal planning and portioning. It?s working for me well. I?m getting back on my treadmill. I religiously stay connected to the wls community through online groups, conferences and support groups. I have people in my online feeds that inspire me. Asking for help from your centre is good.

You have to start by giving yourself grace and trying to do better one day at a time. Find people that inspire you. Reach out and talk about the regain!! Feel free to message me if you ever want to talk I?m not going to type everything here but will gladly go into more in social media and or email I gladly support anyone through this journey who needs help or support Not here to sell anything just support

My 20 lbs has gone has high as 27 over goal. Right now I am 13 over goal

it will likely be a rollercoaster for life.

Love and hugs to you!

Dawn

Topic: What are you eating Saturday

Good morning all.

Enjoyed a lovely long walk with four legged family member in the "English" drizzle; lots of birds and worms out and a few doggie friends to stop and sniff.

Still working out what my meal plans are for this weekend, as I will be out at Hot Docs tomorrow.

Today I enjoyed my weekend breakfast treat and planning the rest:

B: 1 PC blue menu everything bagel with 1 egg and 1 slice cheese; coffee

L: salad with 1/2 can tuna, smidge of dressing and nuts on top

S: sugar free yogurt

D: Chicken thigh; salad; edamame's (fun to eat in the pod)

S: protein shake; Halo little orange - love those little guys!

Hoping to bake some protein bars/breakfast bars and little egg white omelets in muffin tins for quick protein fix during the week.

Enjoy your weekend everyone!

Sunny

Topic: RE: What are you eating/doing this Friday?

Happy Friday all. I headed out for my walk right after work yesterday as the skies were dark and threatening. Hoping to get all the sticks in my yard cleaned up so we can cut the grass before more rain comes next week.

QOTD: Hmmmmm no I don't think I do any particular breathing technique but maybe I should...anyone who knows me knows I'm a very calm person in general but when someone pushes me to that "limit", WATCH OUT. I tend to just leave when I feel that limit being pushed.

B - greek yogurt, spoon of lowfat granola

S - 1/2 protein shake

L - chicken veggie soup

S - egg bite

D - roast chicken, cauliflower, parm

S - 1/2 protein shake

Topic: What are you eating/doing this Friday?

Good morning everyone one. Had a really nice meet up with a friend yesterday, early evening DH and I went for a ride with the top down. The weather was perfect.

Today I'm going swimming and then to the gym. I'll do some household drudgery for a while.

Accountability: On plan

QOTD: Have you ever practiced 4 sided breathing when you are about to lose it with someone? Sometimes it works, sometimes not. There is a particular city official that pushes my buttons.

The eats today at 4 years 9 months post-op are:

B. Buckets of decaf

L. Crab salad or rotisserie chicken salad (whichever I can find in Costco) in half of an avocado

D. Taco beef salad with salsa, sour cream, avocado

S. Maybe a mug of homemade chicken broth before bed.

Have a great weekend everyone.
