Hi, I had my surgery at TWH but I went thru the OBN site in Windsor who did all my pre-op testing etc.

I'm not sure if you have passed all the other stages but I met the surgeon in February and had my surgery mid April.

Over 100 lbs lost! and 13 lbs below goal weight!

Gotta agree with SweetRide... post surgery is extremely difficult.. especially maintenance. I was obese my entire life.. and given this amazing tool.. which in the past year due to emotional eating and struggling with too many personal issues and big changes.. and death... i have regained. i am dealing with it and it's not easy!!! be upfront and honest with the dietitian... and if they defer you.. maybe they can suggest someone who can help you with your emotional eating.. and whatever else is causing you to overeat... gotta get a grip on it now. this is just a tool you are given... not a magic wand to end our eating issues unfortunately.. good luck!!!

Good morning-ish ;)

I stepped about three feet out my back door this morning to grab the recycling bins and that was enough outside time for me lol. I suppose I may shovel later -- I at least need to de-ice the car so we can go to the doctor's office tomorrow. The little nugget is going for her six month checkup and needles.

Today will be house stuff... I need to clean out the fridge. We tried making hummus but it turned out horribly. Even though we said we would eat it we didn't. I hate wasting food but it is beyond saving.

Post-op three years and eleven months. My four year appointment at Guelph is on March 4th if anyone is going to be there :)

Breakfast - banana and PB

Snack - protein bar

Lunch - chicken and rice

Snack - chili

Dinner - tbd

Snack - pudding

All water and vits.

Please go to ER and make sure it's an ER that knows about Bariatric Surgery.

There are multiple things that could be going on and it may, or may not, be related to Bariatrics, but what you are experiencing is not normal.

Right now you are self diagnosing. You could have a small blockage, a twist in your bowel is a common complication after Gastric Bypass (I had it).

Please go and have it checked and let us know the outcome. Better safe than sorry. You really don't want something bad to happen while on vacation. :)

Ginny I'm so glad you are finally getting your ergonomic desk. It's certainly been a while. Your menu looks really yummy, especially that salad.

Today I am on the verge of feeling well, and will go out to do a few errands and then I have a doctor's appointment this afternoon.

My eats today at 4 years post-op are:

B. decaf, decaf, decaf

L. Egg Roll in a Bowl with a fried egg on top and half of a sliced avocado.

D. Going to try Meg-Style sausage with all the fixin's. I don't have an Instant Pot, but I'm going to try and replicate it.

S. Hot comforting Crio Bru before bed.

Have a great day everyone.

Good morning Snow People!!! Someone sure ticked off Momma Nature! I wish they would apologize.

Not too much on the go today. I finally got all my new office equipment as a result of the Ergo Assessment and the lady is coming this afternoon to set everything up at the right height/angles/position etc.

I'm ready for vacation next week. I just hope this weather doesn't stick around so I can at least get my flight out. So many flights cancelled in the last week or so.

B - summer sausage sandwich w. mini tortilla, cheese, onion, lettuce, mustard

S - skyr - black cherry

L - spinach salad w. chicken, blueberries, mandarin oranges, poppyseed dressing

S - cheese/pepperette (I often skip this snack so we'll see)

D - some frozen meal ?? I don't remember what I bought

Have a great day!

I'd call the surgeons office especially since you are going away. You want to be safe! Something is definitely not right.

So here's the thing....

It might be a good thing to defer surgery (not sure they would kick you out) to give you a opportunity to deal with your emotional eating issues. It's really important that you get a grip on that because the surgery is only a tool to help you. It's not going to fix your head.

Post surgery life is difficult. This is not the easy way to lose weight. The challenges remain. Head hunger and emotional eating don't disappear when we have the surgery. The struggle is real and if you truly want to cheat this surgery you can.

No matter what happens today, coming to terms with why you are eating is something you are going to have to deal with in order to be successful in the long term.

Hoping things work out today. :)
