I'm sorry to say I cuddle up in front of the fireplace and patiently wait for spring, or vacation then spring. I do the treadmill (which is so boring) but that's it. 6 weeks until vacation yay, can't wait to walk the beach this year. My last vacation I had to be wheeled in a wheelchair through the airport.

Topic: RE: Aching hips when sleeping new after Rny surgery

Generally this is sciatic pain from the lower back. I've had this for years. Also , strangely, after a 140 lbs loss I have hip pain from the angle of my skinny legs. I use a pillow made to pad between the knees. Really helpful. If you don't think this is your issue check with your doc ?

That is fantastic to hear. Glad you are doing well.

Enjoy your time. I am taking at least a month off as well. I don't know about you but I can definitely use a time out from 'adulting' for a bit. LOL

I guess at the appointment they prep you for potential non-life threatening complications and what not, but this recovery has been a breeze. I had surgery on Friday (the 4th). Friday and Saturday were the worst of it. I had ZERO abdominal pain except when trying to roll over. I mainly had back pain. I had nausea on Friday, but it was gone by Saturday. I was on prescription pain meds on Friday and Saturday but for my back, not cause of the surgery. I was able to be discharged on Saturday, but stayed until Sunday due to my hotel booking. On Sunday and Monday I tired easily and felt ZERO pain except, of course, when rolling over in bed and now getting out of bed 'cause I had no adjustable bed anymore. By Tuesday I was back to normal. I was doing everything I normally do except for lifting anything over 10lbs. At my one week post op appointment I was cleared to light fitness walking at the gym. I have had regular poops since Sunday, no upset stomach or vomiting. Nothing. I kind of regret taking a month off. I could have gone back on Wednesday. I don't know if this is typical or not, but not all recoveries are horrible. I am soooooooooooooooooo bored.

Good morning :)

I'm going to the lab to get some blood work done and then to the mall jewelry store to get my ring inspected. I have a lot to do this week and I just feel so tired. I'm going to try emptying out our basement. We are literally tripping on baby things so I need to make some space. We went to my MILs sheep farm on Saturday and the little nugget got to meet the lambs. One was born while we were there so that was really cool.

QOTD: I'm currently snuggled in my Sherpa sweater and last night I had to have a hot bath to get warmed up. My MIL used to live in an old farm house that she heated with a wood stove and I would freeze there. She moved to a new farm with a gas furnace and it was so nice for visiting. She is happy too because she doesn't have to lug in firewood.

Post-op three years and ten months.

Breakfast - protein bar

Snack - mixed nuts

Lunch - chicken and potatoes

Snack - Greek yogurt and blueberries

Dinner - pork chops

Snack - pudding

All water and vits.

Good morning foodie friends. Since I don't see any posts yet, I figured I'd get things started for the day.

QOTD: What are your best "coping with winter/cold" secrets? Since I don't get to go south like C.C. I think my favorite things are getting the fireplace going and smelling wood burning,,,,,,, soo cozy! I make lots of soups and stews. Hoodies and slippers are my go-to's for clothing but I think burning candles that smell like the beach, or umbrella drinks my favorite trick.

Month and half out from VGS

B - Greek yogurt

S - 1/2 protein shake

L - chicken veggie soup, 1 chicken kabob

S - 1/2 low fat bran muffin

D - chili with parm

S - 1/2 protein shake

Keep up the great work and the newbies like me will be watching for advice from "veteran's" like you

A BIG congrats on the progress a year out!
