Congratulations!
I didn't realize that you and I had our surgeries so close together. My surgiversay is the 16th. I have my one year check up tomorrow. I was probably so preoccupied with myself that I wasn't paying attention. My bad....
I agree Leslie, comparing yourself to others is just not a good way to go. We all lose differently and our bodies are our own. It's almost a recipe for disaster to start doing that kind of stuff. The other thing is that everybody has different challenges in their lives that can cause weight loss to either slow down or speed up. Own your own journey. :)
The support here has been very good and that's why I'm still checking in. I keep learning about this journey and now that I'm at a different stage in my life I come here to learn the next steps and hear what the veterans have to say.
Keep at it and Good Luck!

Congrats Leslie! You have done so well! Felling fantastic and happy is the most important part of all this! I agree, comparing to others is not what one should focus on - its great we can share our experiences and then find a middle ground that works for us. Personally I think if it goes a little slower, then the body has that little extra time to adjust. Some days, I lose nothing - which has stretched to almost a week. I just remind myself to keep following the plan and it will move down again (and it does motivate me to up my walking!)\
Again, well done!!!
Sunny
Hi Stitch. Thanks for your response.
The pain seems to either be less or I'm sleeping better through it. I find I'm only getting up once per night, and the rest of time I just turn over to other side and re-adjust my pillows my leg rests on.
Chiropractor sounds like a great idea - I've never liked having my back adjusted, as I naturally fight the movement to re-align. However, I will make an appointment! I'm also going to start massage, which should help the stress I seem to be carrying in my shoulders and neck.
Now I've started to notice my left knee giving me some pain - sigh. I think its just what one goes through as the body loses weight/fat that cushioned areas.
On the positive side, my feet no longer hurt and I find I look forward to getting up from my chair at work and walk around a ton more! I even take the stairs instead of elevator at work (its only 1 floor, so no great challenge, but still it's one more thing I'm not being lazy about!) Next, I will be going for walks on my 2 breaks (which I never took before and just munched away on food at my desk). Starts Monday!
Have a great weekend!
Sunny

Hi there,
I am midway through my 3 weeks of opti. I have been sticking with decaf coffee crystals and sometimes I add a ton of ice and less water and it comes out like a Wendy's Frostie with a coffee flavour. So delicious. I found the syrups don't taste very good although I do want to try the Peanut Butter Cup flavour I just haven't been able to find it.
I hope all went well! Welcome to the bench!

hello!
one Year and 96 pounds gone. I had hoped it would be at least 100 but I know that will come in the next few weeks. I have learned that it is best not to compare myself with others as we are all different ages, shapes and sizes. I am so happy. I feel fantastic. I am grateful for all the support here and those who have been on the journey before me and with me, you all inspire and guide me. To those of you starting the journey, don't despair, your surgery will be here before you know it. Come here often, the support is worth it.
