Yes, I love traditional chickpea hummus, but I wasn't sure if this had a different base :) I love the garlic ones. I would love to make it but it never turns out as well as store bought.

Topic: What are you eating/doing today -- Monday?

I forgot it was Monday!! DH doesn't work Sunday-Monday so it causes me weekend confusion lol.

We have been working hard to get the gardens going. The onions are sad. I might try planting seeds between the seedlings to see if something will grow. I have runner beans sprouting and ready to plant somewhere. This was a nostalgic purchase for me... My mom had them when I was younger and I remember spending way too much time collecting the beans and drying them - they are really pretty, black and purple.

QOTD: do you have any gardening or plant nostalgia? My parents owned a garden centre for a few years when I was growing up and I remember running around and checking on the plants, watering, weeding, etc. I enjoy having some of my own plants now, but it has been a slow-growing hobby for the most part.

Breakfast - protein granola bar

Snack - protein fudge pops - these are so nice when it's hot

Snack - protein granola bar

Dinner - chicken, veg, salad

Snack - protein fudge pops, banana PB toddler cookie

Way too much processed stuff today. We are getting a grocery pickup tomorrow so we will have more fresh stuff.

All water and vits. Reminder to wash your water bottles lol. I use a shaker cup and it really needs to be scrubbed more often :)

Hummus is made from chick peas which are a legume. They have one that is roasted red pepper that I really like with veggies as a dip too.

Is it bean based? That's very interesting. I will have to look for it next time I'm there.

Late start today!!

LN2 has been waking up a lot through the night -- I think it must be a growth spurt. She is super long -- she keeps growing out of her clothes just as I get them organized lol.

QOTD: what is your least favourite vegetable. I would have to say brussel sprouts. I know it's what a lot of movies would portray, but I really dislike the smell of them cooking too. Most things I don't like but the smell is okay. Except coffee -- CC should disown me ;) I really dislike the smell of coffee too.

I bought it at Costco... it's a 2 pack and is near the prepared salads, dips, fruit and veggies. I wouldn't say it is super sweet,,,, it is more along the dark chocolate line but is great for dipping fruit and at least it's healthy ingredients.

Yes today is Thursday,,, c'mon Friday!

You are becoming a busy bee doing all this gardening. I'm sure you will have success with all of those veggies,,, root veggies are pretty self-sufficient. Pass some beets and parsnips my way if you have an abundance ;) You can keep the onions though,,, I have not liked them since I was a kid. (flavor is ok but the texture gets me)

QOTD: Yes I like parsnips ,,,, roasted is my favorite but I tend to throw them in when I make stew or soup too.

B- greek yogurt, berries

S - turkey pepperettes

L - sliced turkey, leftover cauliflower

S - a few pretzels with chocolate hummus (yes it was a weak moment where i was craving chocolate)

D - protein shake while I do a few errands after work

S - cheese string, 1/2 apple

YAY I'm at 2.5L of water already!

Good morning :)

Is it really Thursday already? I took five minutes this morning and planted some parsnip seeds. We are doing square foot gardening in boxes so I did about 60 seeds. Hopefully most of them will sprout :) Most things we started indoors. Last night I transplanted onions, radishes, and beets. This is really not my cup of tea so I hope they survive.

QOTD: do you like parsnips? I pretty much only like them roasted with potatoes and carrots. I don't know why we are growing so many but I expect we will end up giving some away lol.

Good afternoon!

Whew,, I was running all morning. I've had some issues with my left shoulder for the last few weeks and today I finally got in for an xray and ultrasound so let's hope they figure out what's happening. I've been on pain killers for 2 weeks just in order to sleep which is NOTHING like me... I have a very high pain tolerance and only rarely even take Tylenol. This is the same shoulder that I had broken in 3 spots and dislocated a few years ago, so I'm guessing it will likely be associated to that injury. This was the first day that retail stores are open in our area so I managed to sneak in to a local shoe store and buy some super comfy supportive shoes for my long walks. $$$ but they are quality and I don't mind the investment when I'm going to use them everyday.

QOTD: I would say that I actually enjoy sharing my food.... I'm constantly telling people to "try this" if I think something is yummy. I am a bit territorial about my protein staples though,,,, I try to make sure I have turkey pepperettes and sliced turkey breast and occasionally my kids go overboard on helping themselves. If they were young I'd get it but they are 21 and 23! lol

B - sliced turkey (on the way out the door)

S - non existant

L - chicken chop suey

S - low-fat SF bran muffin

D - Haddock, asparagus, cauliflower

S - greek yogurt

Still need to push my water since I was out of schedule today. I'm likely at 1.75 again but working on another Contigo bottle as I'm typing.
