Yes, I wondered if Orgain is available in Canada. I also expect it's mega $$$. I've never tried (or heard of, for that matter) Slimline, but I did attempt an Optifast program a couple of times, and I sure felt the same about vanilla Optifast as you do about the vanilla Slimline! How can they make vanilla taste so awful???
I'm still pre-orientation and really dreading that part of the process. I've already done very low calorie diets (which just don't work outside of the context of bariatric surgery), and I'm not sure how I'll be able to face one again when the time comes for surgery. But I guess I'll do what I have to do. At least my program (Richmond, BC) has joined the 21st century and allows real food in its pre-op diet.
Sounds like you're doing well, given the cir****tances. Hang in there, and best of luck on your surgery! You're at least going to enjoy the weigh-in when you get there.

Howdy gals. It was a beautiful night for a walk last night so I added a bit of distance. The skies are looking threatening today so hopefully it will come and go quickly so I can head back out for the same walk tonight.
B - greek yogurt
S - egg bite
L - 2 chicken skewers
S - ****tail shrimp & sauce
D - stopping at my parents so will likely stay for dinner
S - 1/2 protein shake

That sounds like a much more palatable way of dealing with this! My sister just told me about the Orgain protein powder (in the context for after my surgery)- not entirely sure if it is just available in the States or also here in Canada .... will be looking for it as she highly recommends it. I am unable to tolerate the vanilla no matter what I try (and there were some excellent suggestions to help with it)- it literally comes up as soon as it goes down. So I'm sticking to two chocolate Slimtime a day and supplementing that with the allowed broth and sugarless jello as well as sugarless gum. It's less than 600 calories a day but I'm doing ok on it - especially when I had a cup of instant decaf coffee to the mix with ice and water.
welcome! Good luck on the coming journey. At the beginning it seems like forever but before you know it, your surgery date will be set and you're on the way. I'm at TWH as well and am having my RNY next Tuesday, June 11. It's an excellent program and there is a reason for taking their time with it - so we all understand exactly what we're doing and understand this is just a tool, not a solution - that the solution lies in our own determination to make the changes we need to make!
Good morning :)
Nothing much planned for today. Might go do a couple small errands. We are trying to clean out our basement a bit and I have someone coming to pickup some stuff today.
Accountability: meh. I had a couple extra bites before bed last night.
Post-op four years and three months.
Breakfast - protein shake with blueberries
Snack - carrots and PB
Lunch - tbd

Dinner - pork tenderloin that I found in the depths of my freezer lol

All water and vits.
Come on... give it a try!

Good morning Gang! I so did not want to go to the gym this morning but because I verbalized my goal of getting there every day this week I dragged my sore, tired body out of bed. I did just over 16 kms (10 mi) on the bike. I wanted to stop at 15 but that was only 9.47 mi and that just sounds silly. I might need a nap at my desk this morning.
Post Op 3 yrs 1 + mos
B - 2 egg cups
S - oikos key lime
L - chicken sandwich on 35 calorie bread (yesterdays lunch - I went for a salad instead)
S - pepperette, cheese, pickles
D - korean beef bowl
Have a great day everyone - we're almost halfway to the weekend.
Thanks, but I kind of like being below my goal weight. I leave the junk food to you.
