I have a question for you post RNYers, I get a little nervous sometimes thinking about what I will eat (or not be able to eat lol) after surgery, and years after surgery. Could you post what a typical meal plan is for you for breakfast, lunch, dinner & snacks ? I realize you don't eat the same everyday so if you could just post a few meals or foods you think of ;)  And could you post how far out you are from surgery ?? Thank you !!!

Typically for breakfast I have Greek yogurt and add high protein granola to it. Lunch I had half of a sandwich on low carb wheat bread and laughing cow added to it and a string cheese. Dinner last night I had a Reuben sandwich. Corned beef, sauerkraut, reduced fat Swiss cheese, no calorie thousand island dressing and 1 slice of rye bread. Snack I had a vanilla Greek yogurt and added some frozen fruit to it.

I am 10 months out and typically my breakfast is a coffee protein shake, 8 oz of almond milk,1 scoop of protein powder, 1 tablespoon of instant coffee.   Lunch is usually 2 oz of deli meat and 1 oz of cheese with a small salad or cut up veggies,  Dinner is what ever the family is eating but I skip the carbs and stick to the protein and veggies. Snacks vary widely, nuts, string cheese, 100 calorie microwave popcorn, any kind of fruit. apples or celery with peanut or almond butter.

I'm 7 mths post op and for breakfast its a protein shake with my vitamins, lunch might be a chicken thigh with a half cup of peas, snack is string cheese or ham lunchmeat, dinner is whatever I made for family but I always eat the protein first then a spoon or 2 of the sides.
Soups and "wetter" foods still make my pouch happiest, but besides sugars I can eat anything, its up to me to make the right choice.

I'm four years post op.  I can eat just about anything.

For breakfast I usually have a protein bar.

I have a snack mid-morning, which might be fruit, Greek yogurt, cheese or a protein shake.  If it's a protein shake, it's usually Syntrax Nectar cappuccino, which tastes like a yummy expensive coffee drink from Starbucks.

Lunch might be a salad, or vegetarian chili leftover from dinner the night before, or a veggie burger.  It might be a burrito bowl from Chipotle with a little brown rice, black beans, peppers and onions, cheese and salsa.

An afternoon snack might be roasted chickpeas, Greek yogurt, nuts, or fruit.

Dinner is similar to lunch, usually.  Sometimes it's hummus iwth bell pepper strips.  Once in a while, it's a slice of thin crust pizza.

An evening snack might be leftovers from dinner, a protein shake, yogurt or popcorn.

Sample day:

B:  Greek yogurt - (dannon light and fit 80 cals/12g protein)

S:  Light String Cheese (50 cal/7g protein

L:  Chicken salad w/ light Mayo (150 cal/23g protein)

S:  Some kind of fruit or veggies with ranch greek yogurt dip

D:  Shredded chicken taco's with light sour cream and light cheese (300 cals/24g protein)

S:  Greek yogurt - (dannon light and fit 80 cals/12g protein)

If I'm hungry in between any of this I'll have another string cheese, beef jerky, or veggies

And LOTS and LOTS of water!! :)

I'm 16 months out.

Ho****er with lemon when I wake
1/2 a quest bar or a protein coffee before gym
Other 1/2 after or a protein shake
Lunch is chicken salad. Chicken, Greek yogurt, spices. Usually with mini peppers and grape tomatoes.
Dinner is a protein and veg. My husband eats pc and I try to eat more Paleo so within those parameters. Last night was Shepard's pie with sweet potatoes.
I'm usually under calories so after dinner ill have another shake or pb2 'fudge'. Now and then some Greek yogurt.

That's pretty typical for me M-F. Weekends I'm more prone to vary. Turkey bacon for breakfast with Paleo bread. Grilled shrimp, pulled pork. Things like that. We grill most weekends so I just throw sides together.

It's a lc peanut butter candy recipe I modified to make low cal.
I melt 2 tbsp.coconut oil in a saucepan with 1/2 c splenda, 1/4 c powered milk, 8 tbsp pb2, 3 tbsp almond milk or more milk powder, and 1 tbsp water if using almond milk or 3 if using powered milk, sometimes 4 depending on consistency. 'cook' til it pulls away from the sides of the pan....just a min or two usually on low. Remove from heat and stir in 4 tbsp vanilla protein powder. I imagine you could use chocolate too. (splenda can turn chocolate bitter so might not work). Spread into a square pan. 5x5 if you have one. I double it and make it on an 8x8 pan. Chill til set and cut a single recipe into 25 pieces. With all powered milk putting the recipe into myfitnesspal, I got 26 cal/piece. It satisfies my sweet tooth and gives me a bit of protein! Let me know if you try it please!
