Approved for revision: should I do revision RNY or DS?

Hi All,

I have been approved for a revision of my RNY on 2/9/09. I had RNY 2005 lost about 100 lbs but I regained all the weight. I have a call to my surgeon to discuss if I could possibly do DS. 

What other questions should I ask him about DS?

1) Since surgeon has done my ENDO can he do DS after my RNY in 2005?
2) Are there anymore risks of DS vs Revision RNY?
3) What about having children in the future?
4) Which revision would have the best success rates?
5) ...

Please share any answers you know or add more questions I should ask my surgeon...

I would say let Dr Barker advise you.  He did my revision from a lapband to RNY and it has been great.  I'm 5 lbs from goal and in a size 10.  The man knows his stuff, trust him to help you make the right decision for you.

I am with Paul on this one - why are you having a revision was it not using the tool correctly or did you have complications??? 

ummmm well not today... i thought i had a pack here at work but i was out

   btw, Debra ..  how was the Summit?   I came down with the "cold from Hell" Thursday night (or maybe it was a major attack of Mountain Cedar pollen) and just did not feel like driving down Friday, esp. if I was doped up big time (like I was) on flu meds and/or antihistamines.      I so hope to make it to the next one  (indications are that it may be in Dallas next time!  )

iron supplements??? what??? actually i am still getting infusions once a month for another 3 months.... my numbers arent coming up....

the summit was very informative... only break outs but the few i went to were very good....

man all these posts about ds/rny/vbg.... its up to the person to get educated - not up to anyone else to argue about who's surgery is better.... that crap has to stop.... just get educated go to doctors seminars ask questions, and hopefully those that are there and have been successful and at least 3 years or further out can hopefully answer questions regarding THEIR surgery...not what they think about other surgeries....

i dont know much about ds and no experience other than what spritey has gone through so i cant speak about it either way other than she has done a great job in her 1 year and i am very proud of her....
