how much should you weigh?what is your goal weight?
Well, as far as WLS goes (and as I just posted on Jessica's recent "disappointment" thread), the WLS surgeon on the 60 Minutes article last year stated that the goal of WLS, so to speak, is to get the SO or MO patient down to just the O-"overweight" BMI range, which is where the vast majority of WLSers bottom out at the end of their honeymoon periods ..
I get plenty upset when I think about how, after losing 210 lbs., I never got to even the "overweight" BMI category . And now that I"m up to 270s and a 35 BMI, I'm technically eligible (again) for WLS ..
But again, according to what WLS is designed to do, I am "average" and I guess I should be happy ..

Frank talk about the DS / "All I ever wanted to be was thin, like that Rolling Stones dude ... "

Medical - 121 to 160
Ideal - 185
My surgeon never gave me a goal weight and i don't have one for myself. I have no idea what a good weight for me is, because i have never been there. Ever. Not since I was a child.
I've always been obese.
I don't think i was ever under 200 pounds from the time i hit 13, probably not for years before that.
So, i'm just eager to get under 200 pounds. If I could hit 180 to 185, i'd be thrilled. Just to get under 200 and stay there would be tremendous, for me.
If i can get below that, that's awesome. But I'm not going to sweat it if i don't.
I just want to be healthy.
This was a cool site, and kinda of reaffirmed my desire to get around 186.
Thanks for posting this.

I did this two different ways:
First at my weight day of surgery:
Ideal weight: 178 (passed that on up! YEA me!)
Medically: 114-150
Then at my current weight:
Ideal weight: 141
Medically: 114-150
So my goal of 160 is somewhere in between. I'd be ecstatic to see anything under 160 and being not quite 10 months out and 7 pounds away from 160, I suppose it is possible to see that 141 on the scale someday.

I think we all get too caught up with the number and need to look at what size clothes we wear and where we can live a happy active life. Look at other health factors like cholesteral, blood pressure, and other things...if you are happy, healthy, and active then that is what counts.
Just my fifty cents do with it what you want.
