lord girl I know how you feel my sister cooked mancotti yesterday. All day everyone in my house has been reheating it and eating it.
Now my mother is begging for someone to go get ice cream. I am four days away from surgery. WTF!!! There should an island to go with other pre-ops to drink our liquids and stress out.

I wouldn't hit him with the sausage, I would INSERT it somewhere......

Seriously, I was on the starvation diet, I mean...liquids for 3 weeks prior to surgery and ended up asking my hubby to eat his hot meals at lunch, while I'm at work, and stick to non-odiferous, cold sandwiches, salads and stuff for dinner.
The good news is I was fine after the surgery until the very last days before I was allowed on purees. After that, I would puree the bleeping sausages!
You can do this, and hubby may even survive it as long as he doesn't try it again tomorrow night! Keep in mind: this is temporary troubles for a lifetime of positive changes.

first let me say i would want to hit my husband as well...
that being said, you will have to get used to people eating tempting things around you. those first weeks of liquid and mush can be the worst. my mother is a down home paula deen-type southern cook and everytime i smelled her food it seemed like torture. it gets better though. i am 8wks out and can now smell bread without homicidal thoughts to the person eating it
good luck and don't be nervous...this is the beginning of a new life!!! it will be great!!
