I may have had coffee 10 times in my whole life.  However in the last week, I have had coffee 5 times.. I'm wondering if it is just the cold weather starting and I'm so cold that I want to warm up. Or am I changing out a old habit for a new one...

I don't think you could addicted after a week

I've been drinking coffee for a couple weeks - i don't think its a problem unless you are using a lot of cream and/or sugar.

Hot tea would be good this time of year too!  I know I can't have coffee for 6 months so I'm thinking of other options.

My doc allowed 1 cup a day right out of surgery.  Now I have 2 cups a day and it is like a comfort food for me.  It's not cold here in Texas yet either.

As long as it is decaf, you are fine. It counts toward your daily water intake!

I drink it every day for some odd reason it calms me down lol... I would jus****ch the liquid calories and soy or almond milk is thicker and does really well in coffee and has less calories then milk or cream.

I drink it.  Fully caffeinated.  Count it as liquid - the "diuretic" story is mostly just that.  Coffee only acts as a diuretic if you're drinking a whole lot of it.

Most docs are cautious about it because it's acidic and they worry about ulcers.

I drink coffee, lots of it (I always have except for 30 days preop and 30 days postop).  I drink it fully caffeinated with half and half.  I count the half and half in food journal toward my daily totals. My surgeon has no issue with it other than he would prefer I forgoe the cream.

The diuretic effects of caffeine are largely a myth, and there's a good bit of science suggesting not only that coffee is protective against breast cancer, but also that  women who drink caffeinated coffee are 20% less likely to suffer from depression.
