Ugh can the holidays just be OVER with???

I am not really a huge holiday person (super long story I wont go into) and since I have lost 73 lbs during this VSG journey (June 2011 to present) I not only feel like I am a trick pony at a dog and pony show, but being strongly urged to go to this holiday party which typically I really enjoyed, but the timing is so bad.  I am strongly focused on what I put in my mouth, I have brought snacks with me, but I just dont want to feel like the nights entertainment - Ya Look at the former fat girl now going skinny do this or do that.  

I am just incredibly frustrated and I just wish the holidays were done with and the parties were over.

On a good note though, I have some wonderful friends who are trying to expand my circle to get me out in a less stressful situation, just friends hanging out kinda thing, and stop me from being so reclusive.  I admit I need to get out and I need to step out of my box of self imposed hiding.

I had my surgery on 8/11/11. We had our company Christmas party on 12/3/11. I ate the food there. I just did not go overboard. I had cheese from the cheese tray, a few bites of pasta, a bite of a chicken tender, and a meatball. For dessert there was bread pudding, I had a bite of that. We had 2 tickets for alcholic beverages. I gave those to my hubby so he had 4 drinks. I was the designated driver. LOL! I drank water instead. You will be fine let your sleeve be your guide.

My job has now forced me to go to THREE work parties (who the hell needs 3 christmas parties for the same group of people!!?)

Im sooo stressed from constantly having to look at all this junk and walk away - and then they leave all of it ALL over the office on nice little platters.


I can't wait for the holidays to be over either.

I am in a stall right now partly due to calling a "free night" at my husbands work holiday party.. yes, one night of drinking carb laden drinks and having a few treats, combined with coming off a round of diuretics.. set me up for an instant 5lb "gain.".. Not saying it wasn't worth it, as I DID enjoy that night and planned to not be "on plan".. but I'm still working on getting back to my low weight.. which was prob a slightly false low due to the water pills.. so who knows how much I can blame on the margaritas.. Oh well, they were good.

Thankfully not too many parties are going on in my world, and other than my husbands work thing, none had anything that really tripped my trigger. 


I'm not much on the holidays either, though I love NYE. NYE will be another freebie evening for me.. but until then, I'm back on the path. I'm planning to make some wasabi deviled eggs with tobiko as my bring along treat for everyone.. I'll see what else is there and maybe won't go overboard. Either way, one evening of fun..

Ditto, we've had two potlucks, one Christmas party (today) and so much other crap all over.

On a scale of 1 - 10 on how well I'm fighting it, I was at a 9-10 for weeks and now I'm down at a 5.

I'm glad it's almost over. Hate how food oriented the world is.

Now to add injury to insult - some people here are trying to fix me up with a co worker - trying to get him to dump his party to come to this party with me.  UGH why oh why ....... Make this insanity stop!!!

I'm actually thankful my job is anti party. We have a department pot luck but some of us are not going. There are no treats at the office and this time of year doesn't drive me to eat differently (never has).

Will be glad when the holidays end-team Grinch.
