Thank you for the great advice. I had someone else tell me about the stretching today as well. I haven't really been doing that. Also, I've been wearing sweats since I was cold all the time but it's gotten warmer and I need to get some shorts and cooler wear.

And you want to make sure to stretch your whole body, not just your legs otherwise you will tighten up in the shoulders and midsection and that can be hell on your breathing. Target has a great selection of running cloths and their prices are not ridiculous.

Did my first 5k march 17th. Wasnt to focused on time as much as try to finish without having to walk and to not come in last. Well I accomplished both. lol Im Not much on running either, but have learned to enjoy it some. Im now jogging 4 to 5 miles/day usually about 4 days a week. Keep it up it gets easier.

Thanks!  As for The Phantom Menace, I think he enjoyed it but even he had to groan at some of the parts, like when Jar Jar Binks sticks his tongue in the pod racer's power couplings...

I'm kind of with you - except I liked running for a day, just because I realized I could do it, now it bores me to death.

Except - once in a while, I go run around the beach paths and I enjoy it. Surrounded by sun, sand, and healthy people and I some how leave feeling inspired.

I think you absolutely should finish the 5K (and maybe we should do a So-Cal OH 5K event!) but then explore other ways to exercise/keep active and healthy. There are endles possibilties - i never imagined I'd love cycling or even kyaking as much as I do, but they definitely beat running.

I'll race you to the roller coaster!

Hey everyone!

So I've been living in maintenance land for the past three months and enjoying my new life and I realized one day that I only had a couple more things on my "list" of post-surgery accomplishments.  One of which, is running a 5K.  And I mean running, not walk/jogging or whatever.  Like, you know, signing up and being IN IT TO WIN IT.

So I start up the 'ol Couch to 5K program and I'm currently in week five. Anywho, I just wanted to vent that I really can't stand exercising. I didn't like it when I was fat and I don't care for it now. People ask me, "But don't you feel GREAT afterward?"

No.

I don't feel good afterward.  I feel horrible and I can't sleep and it stresses me out. I don't understand people who get that natural high from exercise. I never have had it and I never will.  But I am committed to a 5K and I am committed to maintaining my weight loss so here I am.

Otherwise, things are great!  I hope there are some people still around *****member the Waffleking. I'm still around and still LOVING MY SLEEVE!

Like the ad says...."just do it!"    Stop whining like a lil *****!  Although......I've seen you in drag....NOT pretty!  ZING!  Nice to see you posting again...see ya Sat bro!
