OK so I went to my 2 weeks appointment with my surgeon, I was advice that all i needed to do is  take  my muti vitamins I do not have to take calciums or B12. I was told when i have my blood work in 4 months if i have deficiency then i can take it, after seeing the surgeon I went to the nut and would you believe she told me i need to take b 12 and calcium's i told her the doc just told me i did not have to she said what he told you that. then she said OK for get about the b 12 just take the calcium one a day. What the hell do I do now who order do i follower. I do want to start taking the calcium because like the nut stated it is good for the bones. what would your do OH advice please

Don't you just love it, the advice from the professionals? Take iron, because you're a woman, take calcium citrate (the only kind that good for us. The pills are HUGE, but they dissolve easily in warm broth, and just get some prenatal chewies at Walmart. Still drink LOTS of liquid, and try to get the protein drinks down. You'll be fine.

Ok, so honestly it is MUCH easier to PREVENT a deficiency then it is to fix one, take your calcium and B-12 (sub-lingual as we don't absorb it in the stomach).

Call your surgeon, tell him to work this out with the NUT and call you back with proper instructions.  No one on OH knows yourmedical history closely enough to be able to tell you what you need.

Even if it takes him and the NUT a day to work it out, a day won't kill you.  You don't need medical advice from US you need it from YOUR Doctor, based on your medical history and bloodwork.

I did not ask for medical advice from you and i never will unless your are a doctor I just ask what would you do if you was in the same situation read read read, now no matter what my doctor or nut say if i decided to take a calcium am sure it wont hurt me and if its good for the bone why not so i think am going to start taking it.

Advice is what I gave you.  Get the professionals to straighten it out and tell you best what to do.

Don't assume anything.  Calcium, for example,  is good for you unless you take to much of it or in cases involving kidney problems, that almost killed an aunt of mine.  If you're prone to kidney stones for any reason, calcium citrate can make those worse.

The Doc has your labs, he and the NUT should be working together to put a supplement plan together for you.  Make them do their jobs.

FYI

Doctors do not get much if any training on vitamin supplementation in medical school. They treat illness not prevent them! I have not seen a WLS manual that did not list the multi, calcium and b 12. Most women need iron as well. Defer to the nutritionist on this one.
