Congrats on your successful surgery and weight loss! I have been hoping to hear more from people 5 years out. It is like a lost Indian tribe or something that isn't seen very often :-). I have been hearing more and more about excess weight loss at year 5-10 being less than it was 2-3 years after surgery. Your example is a good one. You went pretty far BELOW your goal weight, and gained some back to be closer to your goal. I think this happens more than others might think. I think that is why some of the excess weight loss stats at 5 years may be a bit deceiving. I know personally a guy who got really too thin after VSG and a few years post op gained back 25 lbs so he would be at a healthier weight for his height. I really think some of the regain stats are not taking into account that some of the people went under goal and gained some weight back.
Anyway, you have kept an amazing amount of weight off! I am glad to see that long term weight loss can be achieved. I'm sure your tiny tummy still helps you a lot. That is the key of course. Is the hunger still greatly reduced for you with the portion of grehlin removal? I hope so.
Anyway, congrats, and thank you for the valuable and great information from a true vet!

Thank you Rana for sharing this...for taking time out of your busy day. It is very helpful to read a bit about your journey--especially those very early days and where your head was at.
Great work with your sleeve; with listening and learning about your body and your triggers/limits. Good luck and life going forward!
BTW.....high fuctose corn syrup
....I am sooo with you on that!!
