I know I am a few weeks away from eating solids but does anyone know of a website that will give accuarate descriptions of what 3oz, 4oz, etc look like?  I know I have to measure by volume and not by weight and I am confused as to how to do that.

I bought a weight scale because of different food textures and to be on the safe side I'm still pre-op

Not sure but would like to know that as well... I use a Biggest Loser food Scale $20.00 It seems to work great. You can always take a nickle which weighs 5grams and make sure its on point from time to time!

A good scale is your best investment.  I recommend getting one that does hundredeths of an ounce if possible - takes the guess work out of 0.25 of an ounce.  Mine only does 10ths, so if it's critical, I measure grams and convert.  I'm just that nerdy.

At my last support group meeting the leader told us that 2 oz. is a 1/4 cup. That our sleeves are probably about 4 oz. and we should eat half that. She said not to go over 1/4 cup or 1/3 cup. This has helped me A LOT! I didn't have to buy a scale and it's already in scoop form :) so I just scoop my meals into there!!

Also - I have an egg every morning for breakfast, and that's plenty and perfect. I would say about that much to eyeball also!!

Hope that helps!!
