if it's not worth it, then go back to your old eating habits. If it's as simple as that, there shouldnt be anything holding you back.

WWBD?
Mushies are just that, mushy so as not to put too much pressure on your sleeve as it heals. You're not supposed to feel a lot of restriction right now -- that would imply pressure. Some people do because they have more post-op swelling, but they also tend to struggle getting liquids down. I had no problems with liquids or mushies, and I could have eaten more squishy stuff than I did. Fortuantely I had no 'hunger' at your stage and I self-limited and ate measured portions in accordance with my plan. You will feel restriction once you get to dense protein. If your sleeve is done correctly, you almost have no choice in that matter.
I am 16 months post-op. I just ate 2.5oz of a grilled pork chop I had marinated for 8 hours and 1oz of steemed cauliflower for supper, and I'm full. It's not that there isn't a lot of food out there besides protein - there is. The sleeve works because if you eat protein first, you don't have room for much else. You get physical satiety within the stomach and with the faster transit time of food to your intestines it triggers the ileal break which is hormonal satiety. You can eat around the sleeve or any WLS if you work at it. The key is go build good habits, now, so you just automatically reach for the protein first.
I hope that helps. No one is trying to jump down your throat. We're just suggesting you give the process a little more time :)
