What do you do for exercise?

I do Zumba 2x week, ballet 1x a week and some walking or water aerobics maybe 1-2 days.

The zumba instructor is leaving and I'm not crazy about her replacement. I'm thinking I need more weight training cause I think I look scrawny.

I'm debating pilates reformer or a trainer to get me started with weight training. I dunno, this whole working out thing for anything other than to lose weight is all new to me!

I'm curious what you all do and how often? How many cals burned? Really any info would be great!

I'm all over the freaking place. Running, swimming, cycling, tennis, spinning, hiking. My latest obsession is boxing/kickboxing and cardio circuits. I never imagined I'd *like* to do jumping jacks and sprints :-p

I dont have a HRM so I dont know about calories burned, but thats not my focus really. I'm sure it helps, and i plug my activity into MFP and i get an est but I know the est are pretty high.

The key is just to find something you can enjoy and stick with it. Right now, my boxing is a perfect combinaton of cardio and stress relief.

I'm all over the place too. I play volleyball, do yoga, core class, zumba (not my favorite thing actually), run.

I started weight training a month ago and it's messing with my mind. My waist and hips are shrinking but the scale is up and I feel bigger (hard to describe). You won't burn as many calories during weight training as you do cardio but the ongoing burn by your increased muscle mass will burn just as many or more over time as cardio does while you are doing it.

And finally, my knee is hurting from all my running so I just added biking to the mix. I kinda like it and it doesn't hurt my knee. Yippee!!

Zumba in the gym, zumba at home, c25k training (haven't been doing it much now since I started getting bullied by some kids that were hanging out where I use the treadmill), Turbo Fire, Tai Chi, and Firm Express. Not all of those every day of course, I try to workout once in the morning, once in the evening, and Tai Chi before bed.

With Zumba at home and at the gym I burn between 500-550 an hour. Turbo Fire is the same, unless it's a hiit workout, then it's like 250 in 15 minutes. I burn 200 in 30 minutes of c25k, and not really much at all with Tai Chi, but I do it for balance and flexibility. Oh yeah, and 250-300 in 20 minutes of Firm Express. It's quick, but pretty intense workout. Real similar to Turbo Fire, but there is NO cool down at the end.

Revised from band to sleeve on June 6th, 2012. Lost 48 pounds on my own in the 4 months prior to revision.

6 days a week, minimum 30 minutes a day.  Typically I either do an hour on the elliptical or a 4-5 mile walk.  I need to add in weight litting.  I occasionally do 10 minutes of upper body, but really need to be doing that at least 3 times a week.

I lift with a trainer 2x weekly and I do cardio 3-5 days a week.

I've decided to run the Disney Marathon in January, so I'm going to focus more on training for that while still doing upper body strength work.

Right now I'm resting a hurt foot, so I alternate between 30-60 minutes of elliptical or stationary bike (usually the bike though b/c it's easier on the foot) and then swimming or water aerobics on rest days from the machines.

I too need to add in some strength training.

I LOVE my Jazzercise class!!  I go 5 days a week (1 hr class) and then on the weekend work out to videos at home!  It's high intensity cardio/sculpting/toning...LOVE IT!  Sometimes I do an extra workout in the evening with weights or toning cords!!

I'm hoping to eventually take a jazz or tap class in a dance studio...something I LOVED as a kid and took classes when I was 6-13yrs old.  Once I was the fattest kid in class I stopped so I would love to go back to it now to prove to myself that I am no longer the fattest doing ANYTHING!!!  It's a great feeling=)
