Okay, I need some ideas. I am trying to force myself to eat very slowly, but after the first 2 bites, my food is ice cold. Any suggestions? When it gets that cold it makes it so hard to want to eat it.

I'm not sure what the official name for the thing is, but my wife got me one of those flat iron skillets that the Mexican restaurants use for serving fajitas. I think she got it at one of the housewares stores in an outlet mall we stopped at on the way home from surgery. It comes with a wooden insulating base and an insulated cover for the handle. Pop it in the oven while the meal cooks and keeps thing warm a good long time.

What a great idea!  I've been struggling with this problem too, so I will look for one right away.  My goodness, we get such great ideas on this forum!  Thank you for this one.

My biggest issue is at work. I will microwave my lunch and by the second bite...ice cold. I have to check out the board because that would be great for home.

I used a candle/cup warmer for a while and it really helped.  Give it a try!

either use  a cup warmer or an insolated thurmas soup container like they use for  kids in the lunch boxes....  you can heat up your food in a separate microwave container and put it in the thurmas soup container to eat out of .... it should stay really warmmmm

Love the cup warmer idea!

I wonder if you could get those breadwarmer stones, heat it in the microwave, and then just set your plate on it?

I found this on Amazon -- terra cotta, size 5x3 -- it probably wouldn't work as well as a cup warmer, but you don't have to keep it plugged in!

Let us know what you try, and what works!

I used a cup warmer at that stage and it was a big help!
