A capful of Miralax every few days works for me.

Try a stool softener - not a laxative. Make sure you're drinking all your water, and if you're taking iron, talk to your doctor about easing up for a day or 2 to let yourself get more regular. Maybe try adding a little fiber with a supplement, if you aren't able to get much into your diet. Protein makes stool hard, so it will be tough to find a balance that works for your body for everything.

I also take miralax daily and I'd suggest taking Pepcid once a day to see if that helps with the nauseous feeling.

i tried everything performing as my own lab rat.  First fiber supplements, then Colace, and finally Miralax.  Miralax was the only thing that really worked as you'd like it to work.

I also tried varying the dose between a full dose and half dose.  Once seemed too much and other other seemed not enough.  So i settled on leaning towards a full dose.

A small cup of coffee... that's all I need.

Which is funny because coffee never had that effect on me before surgery. I drank a lot more of it, with no noticeable reaction. Now... yep... just have some coffee and not long after... well, you get the idea.

I found adding ground flax seed to my protein shake helped a lot. Also I took fiber supplements. My doctor said if it has been more then three days you have to do something he suggested colace or miralax. I have even used a suppository a couple of times. I do not miss those days but you have to do what you have to do.

Yes, constipation can makes you nauseated. It can also cause reflux if things aren't moving along as they should.

First is fluids. Nothing will help if you aren't drinking enough. Then add a stool softener like Miralax. Then start increasing fibre, being aware that fibre will actually make things worse if you aren't drinking enough.

So - how are you doing for drinking?
