Goal Weight and 13 months surgeversary
A few minutes ago, I read GrayC's post, and realized it was my 13 month surgiversary. (we were sleeved on the same day!) Then I realized I hadn't weighed myself this morning. I took this as a good sign since I've been so focused on my weight for the last 18 months. It was good that I didn't wake up thinking about weight loss and the number on the scale.
Needing the number for my monthly calculation, I went up and weighed myself, and there was the number I've been waiting for. I've reached goal. This formerly 385 pounds woman now weighs 180 pounds.
Time for a happy dance! What a journey this has been. If you told me when I started that I'd be at goal in 13 months, I wouldn't have believed you. When I set this goal, I never thought I'd make it. It isn't even an ambitious goal. My BMI is 28 - mid-range overweight. But I had failed at controlling my weight for so long. I was hopeless and resigned to a limited existence and early death. I can't believe I am here today at my goal weight.
Anyone considering weight loss surgery, do it. It works. Its not easy but the surgery makes it possible.

Hi HappyTeacher,
I am going to continue in weight loss mode. I'm not going to reset my goal at this point but I still have a pot belly, and I'm going to continue weight loss for a while to see if I can get it down a bit. I'd love to have a flat belly like I did in college.
When I go to maintenance, I'll probably follow Frisco's advice and add 100 calories per day every wee****il I level off on weight loss.
thanks for your encouragement.
