I AM A Week out from surgery. Was wondering when it's safe to sleep on my stomach. Or my side even my back is killing me

I could only sleep on my side.  Only way I could get comfortable.  I don't think it matters which way you sleep as long as you are comfortable.  If you feel pain that's probably not the position.

I figured it was safe once I was able to tolerate it.  That took a few weeks!  I slept in a recliner the first night and then propped up in bed with a lot of pillows.

I was to sore to do it, but my surgeon specifically said I could sleep in any position my first night home, including my stomach.

I'm just over 3 weeks out and still can't get comfortable on my stomach. I started sleeping on my side about a week out but I put pillows behind my back and in front of me to keep myself supported.

I'm a former stomach sleeper...since surgery for me personally it's just not comfortable any more.  I now sleep on my side propped up mostly on a body pillow.  I know it's different for everyone but I just don't feel comfortable sleeping on my stomach any longer; it's like I feel my stomach stretching on the inside if that makes any sense or like a pressure feeling on one side if I lay flat on my stomach now...you're so fresh out of surgery so just give it time & you'll find a comfy position.  Wishing you a speedy recovery.  Steph

I've noticed just in the last few days that sleeping on my stomach just isn't comfy anymore.  I think that it's because there's less of my stomach there, so my back is in a weird position now!

I slept propped up on 3 pillows the first three weeks. Saved my bac****il I could tolerate side sleeping. I then side slept with a pillow supporting my belly.
