Frisco- 7 Years and The Bomb Taco Salad !!!

Just realized today that yesterday was my 7 year post VSG !

And about 6 years in remission from obesity.

Nothing really new to report and I guess that's a good thing !

More of a time to reflect and remember what it was like to be 350lbs. and a 54 BMI

My lowest was 145lbs. and maintained 148-152 for years.

Today I weigh 160lbs. and need to reel it back a little as I do feel better lighter.

Reflecting on how much more enjoyable life in general has been. I'm out there participating in my own story. I make things happen vs. letting things happen.

Grateful to myself for making the decision and commitment, and to my surgeon giving me a solid path to follow.

My suggestion to anyone who takes on this battle of obesity, "F-uck everybody else" Do this one thing for yourself. Don't try and please others or answer to anybody. Do this for yourself !!!! Don't let anybody or anything get in your way !!!

Me and food are in a good place, I love food more now than ever. I only learned how to cook after my VSG as a matter of survival.

It's a quality over quantity thing now !!!

I know I'm only in remission from obesity at the moment because as long as I like cookies, cake and ice cream more than chicken and broccoli, I have a problem.

Here is something I came up with, it's pretty amazing and simple, a taco salad topped with a fried egg !!!!!!!

Love ya Frisco! I am about 3 months behind you. And I too am at 131, from long time maintaining at 123.  Oh well, better than 125 lbs more.  Love it that you still post here and help people. Forward your post to Dr. C if you haven't already.    You are one of his "stars".

WE have a new puppy named Tesla. Her name should be pistol.  So much fun. Fat me could not have kept up.

Will try the recipe.  Cheers from another recovering fattie.   Diane S

Thanks everyone !

I hope everyone gets what they want out of the decision to have any WLS.

It is not easy, but it is completely doable.
